(Jaime’s POV)
The Black Phoenix Club.
Diego and I had been sitting there for the past thirty minutes surveying the place, assessing if we would need any backup for this confrontation with this Miguel guy… but most importantly, we were waiting for Naomi to help us ID him.
Diego’s phone pinged with a text from Chase, and he looked at me with a confident look on his face. “We’ve got it, Don.”
I nodded satisfactorily. “Good. Come on.”
I got out of the car, and Diego did same, handing me the phone, so I could see for myself who the guy who had been instrumental in getting my girlfriend to hide away from me really was.
Diego and I approached the club cautiously, our hackles raised in anticipation of danger.
