Yvette's POV
I didn't quite recall taking the elevator to my room nor lying on my bed, but I woke up to see a version of Mira I had never actually seen before. Beside her was the doctor as well as Dave. I let him do his job without bothering to be curious. I had lost my voice and the will to sound defensive when everything I said only made me sound stupid or deluded.
However, seeing Knox walk into the room with dark circles around his eyes and an unreadable expression on his face, my body suddenly moved in an attempt to gain his attention. Mira pulled me back down immediately, while he spoke with the doctor as though I wasn't even in the room with them.
"It's okay," she whispered, pulling the covers over me.
I clutched the hem of the fabric tightly as I watched Knox continue
