I bolted out of his room before he could say another word, clutching the papers to my chest for some sort of stability. I let myself curl up against the door on reaching my room and in that moment where everything seemed to freeze completely, I fought the dull ache in my chest, refusing to believe that this was my reality.
What exactly had I gotten myself into?
Why can't Knox just be… Knox?! Does he really have to go out of his way to prove to me that he was something worse?
