The forest held its breath. Even the wind seemed to retreat as Selene stepped fully into the moonlight. Her presence was unlike anything Lena had ever felt before. It wasn’t just power it was something older. Something deeper. The witch’s pale silver eyes remained fixed on Lena. “So,” Selene said softly, her voice smooth as flowing water, “the Moonborn walks the world again.” Rowan shifted uncomfortably beside Lena. “Well… that’s one way to greet people.” Selene’s gaze flickered briefly toward him. “And the Beta who talks too much.” Rowan blinked. “I haven’t even said anything yet.” Selene raised an eyebrow. “You were about to.” Rowan slowly closed his mouth. Kael stepped forward slightly, placing himself subtly between Lena and the witch. “We’re not here to cause trouble.”
