I decided to detour back home and passed the woods again when I saw him. Just standing there in the shadows watching my every move like a hawk. The only thing I could make of him was his dark brown hair and his bright red eyes and that sexy smirk on his lips.
Our eyes met and locked for what seemed like forever and then he was gone just as fast as he appeared.
Who was he… I wonder what his name is…. I've never seen him before….
I slowly walked back home. Trying to rationalize everything that's happened already today. Exhausted and confused I made it to the front door. And I stopped in my tracks because I smelled that sweet smell again. Stronger than before.
I heard a soft giggle and a sigh. And when I turned around nobody was there. I shrugged and went inside and locked the door.
Another day and still no luck with a job. I went in the kitchen and heated up some leftover spaghetti from the night before and toasted up some garlic bread and sat down and ate alone.
I went upstairs to my room and threw off my clothes to get in my pajamas. I heard a soft groan coming from what sounded like right outside my window. I hurriedly put on my pajamas and went to the window but again I could smell that sweet smell. And I saw these bright red eyes staring at me from the shadows. Is it that man I saw today? Is it some kind of animal? What does he want? Will it attack?
I closed my window and crawled into bed and prayed whatever it was would leave me alone for the night as I slowly drifted to sleep.
The middle of the night
I woke up with a start when I felt something cold touch my cheek. And when I opened my eyes I saw him standing over me wide eyed with panic.
I gasped and tried to move but I was too freaked out and in shock. It was the same beautiful man from before. I pulled myself together just enough to ask why he was in my room. And a smile slowly formed on his lips and he said
“ I came here for you.”
I looked at him trying to figure out whether to scream and run or to talk to him some more.
“Please don't scream. I'm not here to hurt you.” He said as he c****d his head to the side.
What the hell…. He read my mind.
“Yes. I did.”
“Don't do that.” I said quietly.
“I'll try.” He grinned. “You're so beautiful.”
“So are you….” I breathed.
Vanished
I dozed off as he stood guard over me. Relaxed. I don't know his name. But for some reason I feel as if I've always known this man.
Like I'd met him before.
When I woke he was gone. The sun was beaming into my room so bright I had to squeeze my eyes shut tight for a second to adjust.
Why didn't he stay…. I still smell his sweet scent….
I inhale deeply to breathe him in.
I could get used to that….
