In the maze

247 Words
We went outside into the fresh air for a stroll. We decided on going to the big hedge maze. Inside was so confusing at first until we got to the center. The massive fountain in the center was absolutely stunning. Made entirely of stone was a beautiful woman. She was in a gorgeous gown embroidered with tiny flowers. Her hand reaching out as if she was trying to reach for her partner. Her eyes had this look of longing. Of love. Surrounding her was a beautiful bunch of roses and each one was unique. They all rested on soft, bright green grass. Right below that was the water with the most beautiful gold fish I'd ever seen. Covering the top of the water were several lilly pads. Most had a pink pretty lotus flower on the tops. I noticed Michael had a sad look on his face. Asking him what was wrong he told me that it was a statue of his mother. He told me how she had gotten sick during the plague and had passed away abruptly. He was just a teenager at that time. I hugged him and told him I was so sorry. I had lost my parents very young too. I went from foster home to foster home hoping one day that somebody would love me. My heart ached for him knowing exactly how he feels. It never gets easier losing a loved one. I love you Michael. "I love you too."
