Ch. 4 Leticia's Wicked Plan

1165 Words
A tense night filled the air, and the howling of wolves made the atmosphere even tenser. Inside the dungeon, there was a group of prisoners. One of them was Meryl, with strong resistance manacles on both her wrists. Not only Meryl but her friends also had the same handcuffs. The difference was that only Meryl had a chain on them, which connected to the prison wall to prevent her from using her powers. The Alpha King had tortured her in such a way as to extract information, yet Meryl persisted and kept her mouth shut. Unfortunately, her frail friends couldn't hang on and leaked how she was able to be resurrected. At first, Khan thought that the person who resurrected Meryl was Lord Cecillion or an evil energy spirit who inserted dark souls into Meryl's body to give her a new breath of life. But he was wrong. One of the mimicries transformed using Lord Cecillion's appearance and powers to resurrect Meryl. Even though this Mimicry used Cecillion's abilities, he didn't have all of them. This Mimicry died thanks to the resurrection spell, for his life was exchanged for the female elf. In addition, they knew the main perpetrator of the tragedy in the mortal realm was none other than the fake fae prince. The same Mimicry disguised as Aria's uncle had been living in the human world and was monitoring Aria's residential area with Meryl's help. That night, they all thought Aria was at home, and this Mimicry was planning to kidnap her, so he could hand her over to Meryl. They wished to use Aria's dark power to carry out Meryl's evil plan. Alas, they didn't expect Lyod to take Aria out that very night. This Mimicry often transforms and kills anyone it meets while searching for Aria's whereabouts until no one is left. By the time he arrived at the Chavau family, this Mimicry had transformed into Lyod, which completed his plan to amplify Aria's hatred of Lyod. He wouldn't dare take on Lyod's appearance in the werewolf realm, but it wouldn't matter if he became Lyod in the mortal realm. And yet, the Chavau family was not as human as he presumed. Even so, in the face of the Alpha king, the fox clan was no match for him. It's a different story when dealing with Rousell, who turns out to be a fae nation. Alas, no matter how strong Rousell is, he only has half the power of the fae prince. As a result, Rousell was seriously injured, causing his death, but not without hurting the fake Alpha king. Until the last second of his life, Rousell thought that the one who attacked them was Lyod, the Alpha king. That was why the cook hissed in anger and hatred when he saw Lyod coming with Aria. But the fox clan discovers their real enemy when Rousell manages to injure the Mimicry. They knew that Lyod was with Aria at the time of the attack, but it was too late. By the time they found out, Rousell was already dying, and the werewolves had arrived on the scene. No one knows who and where the Chavau family is right now, not even Meryl. Meryl hopes that with Rousell's death with Lyod as the killer, hatred and feelings of revenge will fill Aria's head and break the girl's final seal. However, her plan went astray when Aria got out of her clutch. It turned out the girl had given her heart to Lyod. She had only miscalculated once, but the consequences were dire. Not only did she not get Aria under her control, but Khan also plucked her wings and captured the source of her information, thanks to how weak her subordinates were. It made her extremely frustrated and enraged. Meryl wished she could kill both Khan and Lyod at once when Aria's dark force awakened. No. The first thing she had to do was absorb all of Aria's power and then exterminate all of her enemies. But before that, she had to get out of here first. Tap. Tap. Tap. The sound of someone's footsteps reached Meryl's ears, and she knew those footsteps were neither Lyod's nor Khan's. Meryl had been locked up for almost a week, and every day Khan and Lyod came there to interrogate her. She memorized the sound of the footsteps of the two people, so she could tell this visitor was a new guy. She thought Lyod sent someone to torture her, considering the young man was a vengeful person. Lyod wouldn't let her die so quickly because she had taken advantage of and fooled Aria. Never once did she think her visitor this time was a woman. "So, I heard you are a friend of that human girl, yet she didn't help you. Doesn't that suck?" taunted the woman, inviting scornful glances from Meryl's friends. "What do you want, Letticia Randall, daughter of Alpha of the Sabertooth pack? Since Alpha Lyod liked you and promised you Luna's position, your father was willing to let you leave his pack. But what happens next? Someone stole your position, and there's a chance that the person you were hoping for would return you to your father." "No one can steal mine! Whoever dares to do so will have to suffer the consequences!" "Interesting. What can you do?" "I won't do anything, but you will." "I got chains in my hands, remember." "And I've got the keys and portal ring. I can free you, but you have to get rid of Aria for me. What do you say?" "Why should I heed you?" "Do you have another choice? It's not like I don't know your goal is to make Aria hate Lyod. I heard everything you guys were talking about while the visionary was interrogating you." "…" "And I know you guys want something from Aria. Isn't this a win-win solution?" "Deals." Letti raised a hand showing a purple round ring on her middle finger. She rubbed it and a portal door opened over the heads of the elves. The portal door shifted slowly until it covered the heads of the elves. Just as the portal door almost covered their entire bodies, Letti threw the chain key onto Meryl's lap. The next second, Meryl and her friends were in the mortal realm with a key on Meryl's lap. They had no trouble opening the manacle and grinning happily because they still had hope. "You think that woman knows it?" "If she had known Aria was a hybrid, she wouldn't have told us to get rid of her. Instead, she would let everyone know, and the lords would get rid of her." Everyone knows that no one could kill a hybrid. It requires various races' combined strength and cooperation to kill a hybrid. "What should we do?" Meryl answered with a crooked smile and a scary look in her eyes. Obviously, what she had in mind was not something good.
