Ch. 9 Nana's Feelings

1070 Words
Time flies so fast that she doesn't even know it. The sun was getting striker and shifting before finally setting, indicating that night had come. Nana helped Aria catch fish for lunch, and they hunted wild boars for dinner. Aria had no problem eating fish, but eating boar… she had never tried it. In the end, Aria only ate three pieces of it before finally deciding to sleep. However, sleeping on the ground was uncomfortable and made her back stiff. She remembered the downy bed and thoughtlessly summoned the magician. After expressing her wish, the magician made the same bed and a canopy flower as this morning. However, there were no thorny roots surrounding it. It was because Nana would stay up all night and had an Allidragon by her side. The magician's thorny roots were no longer needed as long as Aria didn't tell Nana to return to the token space. Aria lay on the bed with a delightful heart and let the magician return to the token space. A comfy bed and a canopy of flower petals that protected her from the chill night air could make anyone sleep well. Unfortunately, Aria still couldn't sleep. She was still thinking about Lyod, Khan, and her uncle. "My lady, can't sleep? Is the bed uncomfortable?" Asked Nana, knowing well that Aria hasn't sleep. "It's not like that. I was thinking about Lyod, and… that's how it is." Nana fell silent when she heard Lyod's name. It should be the young man who had the sovereign token and claimed the seven members. But Lyod decided not to offer his blood and instead gave the token to Aria. A sovereign token, which means the seven members of the no-face squad choose their own master. But they couldn't find the right master that fitted their criteria after the Goddess of Light's departure. That's why they decided to take a vegetated state in the Enchanted Forest. During their hibernation, the Heart took care of them and didn't let others take them. About fifteen years ago, a voice woke them up. The sound they heard was not the voice of people talking but the sound of the breath of life. This voice called out to them, so they decided to stop their vegetation period. The Heart understood that the sovereign token had chosen its master, so he gave the token to the little Lyod he had just saved. They were waiting for Lyod to claim them, and after waiting for years, the boy didn't summon them as they expected. No matter how much they craved to get out of the token space to beg Lyod to claim them, no one could get out. They were trapped as long as there was no human blood to unseal the token space gate. In the end, they all decided to give up hope. Nevertheless, they did not leave and remained by Lyod's side until the young man gave the token to Aria. By then, they had gone back to sleep, so they didn't notice their owner had changed. Only two people woke up feeling the new owner when Aria gave her blood to unlock the gate. The knight had no interest in seeing the outside world, realizing their owner was not Lyod. Hence, only the magician came out to come face to face with the previous owner. 'Who are you?' but a voice awakened the knight again. Somehow, this girl's voice carried a nostalgic feeling. 'Are you… a member of the no-face squad?' Surprisingly, his comrade did not answer their mistress's questions. Even though they were looking forward to meeting their master and wishing for Lyod to be that person, the magician did not mind having another master besides Lyod. But why did the woman become speechless as if she had met a ghost? The knight decided to take a peek into the outside world, and to his surprise, he felt a divine and majestic aura that he had not seen in a human body for a long time. He immediately woke up the other five comrades, and they all experienced the same thing as the magician. They all became dumbstruck. Having Aria as their owner was twice as good as Lyod. That's why they often come out of the token space without being summoned to help the girl. If their owner had been Lyod, they would never have gotten out before the young man summoned them. But it was a different story with Aria. They were all willing to break the system and accept punishment as long as they could assist Aria. It was their wish. "Lady Aria, Master Lyod will be fine. He is the strongest and greatest person I have ever met." Comforted Nana in a calm and reassuring voice. Aria glanced at Nana to give a small smile. "I know he is a strong and great man, but how many people have you met?" "How ruthless. My lady, you must change the way you view me. I may be a child, but my brain isn't a child!" Her answer made Aria laugh out loud. "Okay, okay. Want to sleep with me here?" "Eh? I can't. I'm only a servant. This… it will degrade your dignity." "Who cares about my dignity? I want to be with my friends unless you don't think of me as a friend." "Friend?" Nana didn't expect to hear the term 'friend' from Aria's mouth… or anyone who had been her master. Aria was their first master since the goddess's departure, but that didn't mean they couldn't feel their fellow no-face squads' feelings in the other two tokens. Other tokens have had multiple masters and passed from hand to hand. None of the masters treated the squad the way Aria treated her. For them, the squads were weapons and enslaved people who must obey every word of the master. Now you understand why the sovereign tokens were careful in choosing their master. But there were times even the tokens themselves would not be able to escape from the one with absolute power. And once the blood was imprinted on it, the no-face members inside it were bound until the master died. "Nana?" Aria stood up when she saw Nana's pair of teary eyes. She wondered if there was something wrong with her words. "What happened? Did I offend you?" Aria hugged Nana like she was a baby sister to be comforted.
