A couple of hours had passed and Rocky wasn’t regaining his consciousness back. Pri had done every single test possible and they all are coming negative.

He’s physically fine but apparently his mental state is not doing so good right now.

Thanks to me.

Come to think of it I have brought nothing good to his life ever since we met, I have only ended up hurting him both physically and emotionally, I doubted him and lied to him.

I literally suck at this mates thing.

Having a mate doesn’t come with a manual instruction, you both just need to figure it out how to treat each other right.

So far, so damn bad.

I’m trying to collect the right words to say to him as soon as he awakens but there ain’t non.

Should I say sorry that I’m half human half wolf or should I say thank you for being alive.

I probably will sound like a mentally unstable person if I say it wasn’t me but vera the other me who lives inside of me.

Sounds insane to a human.

This is so damn hard , I really don’t get why my life had to be so f*****g complicated.

They say everything happens for a good reason but this is one of those times that I would love to know what greater reason might that be for my life now to be such a big bizarre.

“Your highness”, a familiar feminine voice calls out.

“Yes priya”, I respond snapping out of my thoughts.

“I ran a few more tests but he appears to be physically fine just like before. We just need to wait for a couple of hours to see if there will be any change in his condition”, she explains as she goes through the papers she had.

“Okay doctor, thank you”, I earnestly state as I keep my eyes locked on unconscious Rocky.

I wonder what is going on, in his head right now.

Is he having a dream or a nightmare?

I think I already know the answer to that.

“Your highness”, priya calls out hesitantly,

I turn to look at her. without saying a word, I gesture for her to speak up.

“Um.. is, is the prisoner your mate??”, stammering, she questions.

Surprisingly I didn’t feel worried or anxious that she figured it out.

Because sooner than later, everyone is bound to find out.

“Yes priya, he is my mate”, I respond flatly as a smile creep on my lips at the mention of mate.

I might suck at being a mate but I sure as hell care and have lots of love to my mate.

I just need to call myself on a little meeting and come up with solutions of my little problem.

“Congratulations Alpha, I’m glad you finally found your mate”, priya expresses as she smiles genuinely.

“Thank you pri, I just need to find out a way in how to handle this mates bond and having a mate. Cause I really don’t know what I’m doing”, I state as I look at priya who’s just smiling at me.

“A little advice Alpha, when it comes to our mates one thing you should always do is be honest. No matter how dark or creepy the situation is. Always come out clean to your mate”, she explains with so much depth.

“What if your mate is from a different world and my problem is based on our world”, I curiously ask.

“It doesn’t matter Alpha. Maybe the solution to your problem comes from the other world. Our mates are our other half. So we should learn to treat them as such, equals”, she expresses.

I didn’t know how much I needed this, she’s shade some light to my dark overlapping thoughts and I’m grateful.

“Thank you pri. I appreciate it”, I thank her.

“It’s nothing Alpha. I’m here to serve you , not just as a doctor but also as one of your most trusted subject”, she says as she bows.

“Still, I appreciate it. Please let’s keep this between us until I talk to him about everything”, I say.

“Of course alpha. You don’t need to explain further.” She quickly expresses,

I really got the best team by my side, it is during this times that you get to realize how blessed you are.

I’m not lucky, I’m blessed .

Speaking of which, I need to go find Derek and finish our conversation before meeting up with Paco who was trying to contact me earlier today.

“I will go meet the Beta. Please keep an eye on him and let me know as soon as anything changes”. I tell priya before excusing myself heading to the office as I mindlink Derek to meet me there.

In a short while I arrive at the office and I find Derek and paco together cleaning up the mess I left.

“What in the name of f***s happened here?”, paco questions dramatically as he cleans up the broken glasses which must’ve fell when Vera took control.

“I’m sorry guys it’s a long story but thank you for helping me out”, I state as I go over to my desk and gesture for the boys to have a sit.

“So is there news regarding the hunters?”, I question immediately getting back to serious matters.

“Yes Alpha, I know where they might be hiding but we have a tiny problem”, Paco states as his voice gets lower as he concludes.

He sounds a little scared, well I don’t blame him . The last couple of weeks I have not exactly been the most friendly, so it is understandable.

“What problem?”, Derek questions.

“The property is protected by a spell”, paco responds.

“The last time I checked, we are in good terms with sisters coven. We should contact them to help us out”, Derek responds.

“Well, that’s the problem. Immediately after I found out about the protection spell, I used the help of my connections to try to break the spell but as soon as she tried to , it was bouncing back on her. So she did another spell to find out why she couldn’t break the barrier and she concluded that the spell was more powerful and dark since it was done by an element witch”, paco explains.

That’s both bad news and good news .

Bad news being finding an element witch is pretty hard , almost impossible. And good news because they are very few. So we can easily narrow down the one who cast the spell.

There’s something that bugs me though, you see element witches don’t live in covens they usually stay alone. Meaning they can’t be controlled. How the heck did the hunters get their hands on one??.

I’ll figure it out .

“Well, it okay. I will ask the senior witch for help from the coven. That’s good boys let’s keep up the good work”, I state as I smile at the both of them while they look at me as if I’m crazy.

“Did something happen??”, I question.

“No, but since when do you smile like that and say thank you?”, paco questions looking a bit confused.

Well, that hurts a little. Have I never thank them before??or smile at them??.

I Have been an awful Alpha then.

Because of that , I decide to give my self a little reminder to always thank my people and smile at them.

As often as possible.

“Alpha where is the King?”, Derek blurts out.

“Who??, did you say the king?”, paco asks looking surprised.

Right, I haven’t told him yet about Roque’s identity.

“Yes paco. I have found my mate”, I respond feeling a little guilty for leaving him in the dark.

“Really?, which pack is he from?, do I know him??”, he asks excitedly.

“He’s the prisoner whom we thought he is a hunter”, I answer dumbfounded as Paco’s expression turns from a smiley emoji to a surprised one.

“Who?”, he asks again.

“The f**k dude. Didn’t you hear. He is the human whom we almost killed. He is the king and we should respect him”, Derek states Stunningly.

The sense of beta’s duty already kicked in, and right now all he cares about is the protection of his king.

“Of course dude. I was just surprised”, paco states still looking confused as ever.

“Alpha, so where is the king?”, Derek questions again.

“He is at the infirmary”, I respond flatly as I pretend to sign papers on my desk.

“What??, why!,what happened”, they both question astonished in unison as if they had told each other.

I found myself smiling, just loving the fact that they both love Roque even if he’s a human.

“Calm down you two , he just passed out after Vera took control and he didn’t know about us being werewolves”.
