Ava stood in front of the boutique's ornate mirror, adjusting the delicate silver bracelet June had insisted she try on. Her reflection stared back at her with a composed, serene, and utterly detached look. Yet beneath the surface, her heart pounded with a mix of anticipation and dread. She turned to June, who was admiring a pair of sapphire earrings. "Excuse me for a moment," Ava said softly. "I need to use the restroom." June nodded, her eyes still fixed on the glittering jewels. "Of course, take your time." Ava walked briskly through the boutique, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor.
