Reina packed up her valuables, walked to the door, and looked back at the place she had stayed in for two years.
It was warm and clean, filled with the things Patrick had someone send over.
It was extremely extravagant.
It was also extremely ironic.
Carly Reyes, a maid of the Wilkerson family, saw Reina struggling to carry her suitcase downstairs.
Carly was worried at the sight of Reina teetering ahead. "Mrs. Wilkerson, what are you doing in the middle of the night? Give it to me!"
"You're nine months pregnant. You shouldn't be lifting anything heavy! Mr. Wilkerson values the baby very much!"
Reina looked down at the empty downstairs, and a sarcastic smile crossed her face.
He valued the baby so much that he wanted to kill it.
Tears welled up in her eyes, but she held them back.
Reina said in a hoarse voice, "Carly, please tell him that...
"I've already got the divorce agreement ready and e-mailed it to him. Also, I won't have any surgery."
With that, Reina carried her suitcase out, no matter what Carly said to dissuade her. At this moment, every step she took felt heavy.
It was raining hard outside, and the wind was blowing, taking away the summer heat.
Reina stood at the entrance of the villa. Soon, she got drenched, and it was freezing.
She glanced at the sky and walked into the rain without looking back.
...
A car swooshed over.
The screech of the brakes rang out, and the water in the puddle was splashed by the wheels.
A man got out of the car, walked up to Reina, and said respectfully, "Mrs. Wilkerson."
He was Allan Knight, one of Patrick's assistants.
Reina acted as if she didn't see him and walked past.
Allan stopped her.
"Mr. Wilkerson asked me to take you to the hospital."
He told her calmly.
Allan snatched away her suitcase and opened the car door for Reina.
The low-key black Maybach belonged to Patrick. She knew it was worth millions of dollars.
Many women wanted to sit on it. But now in Reina's eyes, it was a ride to hell.
Once she got in the car, she would be sent to hell and doomed!
Reina said, "No."
"There was an accident at the hospital. The operation must be performed earlier. Mr. Wilkerson ordered me to bring you there at all costs. Mrs. Wilkerson, please don't make things difficult for me."
Allan's tone sounded polite, but it was a threat in nature.
Reina gave a bitter smile.
It looked like she had no choice but to go.
She was expecting. It was too risky for her to go against a man.
The car headed towards the hospital.
Looking at the storm outside the window, she asked, "If I don't go, that woman will die, right?" Her grief could still be felt, though her voice was calm.
"Yes."
"Then let her die."
Patrick chose to save that woman at all costs.
But Patrick knew that Reina was about to give birth! She could feel the baby move every day.
Allan didn't reply to Reina.
Reina took a deep breath. Looking at the bridge across the river washed by the rain, she said more calmly, "Who is she?"
"Kiana Henderson."
When Reina heard the name, she froze!
Kiana?
How could it be Kiana? Reina almost blurted it out.
A minute ago, she was numb to everything around her, and her eyes were empty. Now despair and desolation consumed her.
The rain beat against the windscreen, blurring the view ahead.
Reina opened her eyes. Her eyes were filled with hatred. She stretched out her hand and grabbed the steering wheel.
She turned it with resolution!
Allan cried out in alarm, "Mrs. Wilkerson, what are you doing? Let go!"
Reina didn't seem to have heard him. She lost her mind and was heartbroken...
She thought, I have nothing now! Nothing!
She gave the steering wheel a hard push. With a bang, the car broke through the railing of the bridge and directly rushed into the river, causing huge splashes.
The cold river water choked Reina. Reina spread out her hands and let the cold water swallow her.
Suddenly, she felt a great pain in her stomach.
She wondered if her baby knew that Patrick abandoned them and they were dying.
In just a few minutes, the bridge became crowded.
Police cars and the Wilkerson family's cars sped over, but they were stuck at the end of the bridge.
