Freedom!
It was right there. I could almost taste it.
I was a short distance away from the door. I could almost feel it!
It was right there, almost within my reach, just a little bit further and I would be able to get out of this place.
I could almost already feel the freedom that was promised to me once I ran out that door.
I was only inches away from the door! But it might as well have been miles.
I reached out for the door handle and was just about to grab it to leave this prison, when I felt his big meaty arms wrap around my waist. Yanking me back away from the door.
Away from safety.
Away from my freedom.
“You thought that you would get away from me so easily. Girl, I have been put through enough s**t, that a little thing like you is not much of a fight for me at all.”
