Unknown POV The house creaked as I pushed the door open, revealing a dark interior. The air was stale, the windows shut as I walked in. I reached out a hand, flipping a switch, and the sudden burst of light illuminated the space made my eyes squint. I closed the door behind me, walking to the push the curtains and windows open. The afternoon sun outside was sinking rapidly below the horizon, casting long shadows across the walls. I turned around. The room was spacious, with high ceilings and large windows that let in what remained of the daylight. The atmosphere didn't feel as oppressive as it felt when I first walked in.
