Chapter 16

A lot happened in the past 4 months and I think it’s pretty accurate to say I’ve gotten myself a busy life. Sophia, Sarah and I have basically become inseparable, we hang out almost on the daily. Whether it’s just at school, a party or in the mall, you’ll almost always see us together.

Ethan and I have been hanging out as well. Walking home from school if the weather was nice or talking on the porch at night. He would a lot of times even join the three of us when we went out. He eventually told them his secret as well and they were both really supportive. Talking about guys is even better when a guy gives his opinion as well.

Michelle and Adam are still together but they’ve been fighting a lot the past few weeks. However, Adam has really grown on me. Drives us around or comes over whenever Michelle or I need him. Of course there is still a stupid comment here and there but if you learn to see through that, you see that he really isn’t a bad guy.  He’s an absolute flirt but he is caring, funny and incredibly smart as well, something he doesn’t want a lot of people to know.

Alexander and I are, surprisingly on good terms. In the beginning he would always make stupid s****l jokes or try and touch me. Like when he would walk behind me on the stairs, he would be stupid and thank me for the view. I really disliked him until I one time completely lashed out at him for it and since then he’s been really nice, even respectful I’d say. He even became my party buddy and I ended up really enjoying hanging out with him.

Oliver and Sophia are not talking right now, or you could just say that Sophia’s not talking to Oliver. Whenever he would be in the same group as us he’d come sit next to me, talk to me and every once in a while he would just make stupid jokes about Sophia’s crush on him. His player ways were still working fine as well, kissing a different girl for every party he went to. Sophia was annoyed with him, sure but she really cut him off when we walked by and he asked me if I wanted to join. I don’t know if he had meant it or not, if he was trying to make her jealous or not but Sophia just really took her distance from him since then. I really him but he can be such an i***t at times…

To spice it up, Daniel, Jason and Matthew even got arrested one time because they were fighting some guys at a party. And no not just a few punches, they were really going at each other like they were ready to kill one another. Apparently it was so bad they had to call the cops before one actually killed the other. Sarah had asked what had happened but neither of them wanted to say. Of course there went a lot of rumors around that they got into s**t with drugs or that they stole something but no one really knows.

To spice up things even more, Daniel got a girlfriend according to Sarah. I never saw her and I didn’t even believe it at first since Sarah always said that he wasn’t the relationship type. However, Sarah says he’s happy with her and in the beginning, I honestly didn’t care but he’s been nicer to everyone so that was definitely a win. Really have to thank that girl if I meet her that she made it tolerable to be around him, she did the impossible. It made it easier for me as well, I could scratch him as a suspect. Not that that surprised me but still, you never know.

Jason has been loosening up to me as well. I mean he’s still mean at times but I learned that’s a part of his personality. I know he cares because when he’d leave a party, he’d always asked if I needed a lift. We’ve had a lot of good drunken talks and that’s one thing I really like about him. He’s brutal honesty but a good listener at the same time. With him, you know what’s up and that felt really refreshing.

I also got to hang out with Matthew, who really is the exact opposite of what he looks like. He’s even started to call Sophia and me his little sisters as well but whenever I tell him he’s being too protective, he would just laugh and tell me there is someone else who’s a lot worse. Not funny.

Speaking about the texts, they’ve been casually coming and going for the past few months. It’s weird because it’s gotten to a point where I don’t suspect any of them because they’re all so different from him. So I still have absolutely no clue who it is but weirdly enough, I’m actually having fun with the dares. He made me write a love letter the principal as revenge so I made him steal Ashley’s bag. She went nuts and that was totally worth it since she had been bugging me like crazy. He made me go to school without shoes, where I got detention for by the way, so I made him make me homemade lunch for a week. He left it in my locker each day or gave it to Matthew and it was f*****g delicious, it was safe to say I was sad when the week was done.

The worst thing he made me do was walk into the boys locker room and ask if anyone needed help changing. I didn’t want to do it at first so he asked me to tell him my biggest secret but I didn’t feel comfortable sharing the s**t so I went with the boys locker room.

I just think it’s safe to say that Christmas break didn’t come a moment to early this year…

I looked besides me to see Liam laying besides me on my bed, watching videos on his phone. I know what you’re probably thinking…

WHAT THE f**k HAPPENED BETWEEN YOU AND LIAM?

Well, that’s interesting for sure…

To give you the short answer to your question ‘Are you guys dating?’, yes we are.

But then again, that’s just the short answer.

I snapped out of my thoughts and read the text. We started texting each other a lot more besides the dares as well and he really started feeling like a friend to me. It’s weird, I know. We text each other when we need advice or when we’re bored and that’s almost daily yet I have no clue who he is…

-I’m with Liam. What are you up to i***t?-

-I still don’t like the idea of you with Liam- unknown

That’s another thing. Even tough I suspected Liam for a hot minute, turned out it wasn’t him. How am I so sure? He is literally watching videos while I’m busy texting with the i***t. Gave my little stalker the nickname about a month ago. Plus they’re too different. Liam is just… Ugh, don’t even wanna talk about it right now.

-I know but that’s not really up to you, now is it-

-It isn’t but we both know that I make you feel 10 times more with a text then he does in general – unknown

And the sad part about that was, he was right…

“Who are you texting?” Liam asked me, tilting his head to the side to look at me.

“Just Sophia, I’m hanging out with the group later”, I lied, putting on a smile. I know, I know, lying to your boyfriend, low blow. I just didn’t want him to know about the texts. Mainly because it’s just an innocent game with some innocent texting with an innocent friend. But a part of me also didn’t want to tell him because I didn’t really want to admit how I really feel about it. Highly conflicted, to say the least…

“Okay, you still wanna eat together?” he asked and slowly pulled me to his lap, my legs on both his sides.

“Chinese?” I asked as his hands innocently rested on my waist.

“Anything you want”, he whispered and slowly started leaning in before softly pressing his lips against mine. My arms immediately went around his neck, pulling him as close as possible. Our lips moved together while his hands slowly moved up and down my back.

After a good time of that, he pulled back and I slowly opened my eyes, locking with his.

Nothing, still nothing…

“Set the table while I’m gone?” he asked sweetly while putting a few strands of hair behind my ear.

“Okay”, I said and gave him on last kiss before getting off of him. He left my room and shortly after I heard his car leave the driveway. Mom was away the first week of the break so I had the house all to myself. Normally I wouldn’t care too much but since my birthday was coming up in three days, I would be able to give a party. Not like one of Alexander’s party’s though but just a few friends and a few drinks.

An hour later, Liam and I were sitting at the table, finishing the food while talking.

“What is it about?” Liam asked when I suggested we go see the conjuring this Saturday.

“It’s about ghosts and haunted things”, I explained, getting already excited. These movies would always scare me to death, didn’t stop me from watching though.

“I really don’t like horror that much”, he said.

“Oh yeah, I forgot”, I stood up and collected the dishes, Liam doing the same.

“Plus, don’t those play only late at night anyway”, he asked as we both unloaded everything in the kitchen.

“Yes, I think so”

“I have training Saturday” Right, that was one thing. When he had told me he had a busy life, he had meant it. Not that that bothered me, my social battery goes down quickly anyway.

“Oh, okay. No problem”, I smiled at him as he went back to living room.

“How about just food Saturday and then we go to the movies another time”, I heard him yell.

“Sure. I can just go with Matthew, he was going anyway”

“Perfect, then I’ll drop you off there after dinner” And again, nothing. Why does this bug me so much?

“Sounds good”, I heard the doorbell go off and quickly cleaned the last bits up.

“I’ll call you okay?” Liam said while putting on his jacket, me following him to the hallway after.

“Perfect”, I said and he leaned down pressing a short kiss on my lips. He opened the door and Sophia came into view.

“Sophia”, he greeted her before giving me one last smile and going outside. I closed the door behind him and leaned myself against it, letting out a big sigh.

“Allright, that’s it”, I looked up at Sophia as she stood in front of me.

“I’m gonna ask you a very important question before we leave”

“Okay?”

“Do you like Liam?”

“Yes, of course I do”

“Then answer this”, she said, crossing her arms over her chest while I nodded.

“Do you like him as a friend or a lover?”

“I…”

I really hated seeing them together. Firstly because it annoyed me to see her smiling and innocently holding hands with him everyday at school.

Secondly because Liam was a good guy. I can’t say anything bad about the guy and I most definitely can’t say that he doesn’t deserve her. Hell, he deserves her way more then I do.

And lastly, because I know that she only sees him as a friend. Everyone with eyes could see that. Everyone except for her…
