exorcism ritual

In the underground chamber of the church, the atmosphere was vibrant with light. Klaun cautiously surveyed his surroundings. A circle of white candles formed a large ring, quietly burning as the melted wax dripped from the candlesticks and gradually solidified. In each corner of the room stood two robust officers. The central floor was strewn with silver powder, meticulously arranged into an octagram. Encircling the octagram were two concentric circles adorned with unfamiliar symbols and peculiar designs. Dressed in a pristine white robe, Nick bore the church’s sacred emblem embroidered on his chest. He stood within the circle of candles, cradling a hefty Bible in his hands, its metallic cover gleaming with a radiant gold, also engraved with the emblem of the God of Flames. Upon noticing Klaun’s entrance, the priest nodded gently and said, “Krauen, please stand in the center of the ritual.” In Klaun's recollection, the priest only donned such attire on the feast of the divine birth each year. Is this a blessing or a curse? If it is a curse, there is no escape. The current setup was undoubtedly more than a mere inquiry. Suppressing his anxiety, Krauen maintained a calm demeanor as he stepped into the circle of candles, positioning himself in the heart of the octagram. As he traversed the ritual pattern, his right foot hesitated briefly, pressing down firmly. Upon standing still and observing that the design on the ground had not altered from his movements, a flicker of disappointment crossed his mind. Nick's voice resonated solemnly, “Klaun Morty, as a child of the divine, you are about to receive a sacred baptism today.” Krauen furrowed his brow slightly, correcting him: “It is my honor, Father. However, you are mistaken; I am Krauen Moya.” Nick's serious expression softened slightly as he spoke again, “A name is merely a symbol; our Lord remembers the essence of every lamb that has prayed to Him.” “My child, though you have lost all your blood relatives in this world, you will forever bask in the gaze of divine attention.” “Um, excuse me,” Krauen coughed lightly, feeling somewhat embarrassed, “Father, I must mention that I have a sister who is married in Rhine City.” Now, he had fully embraced the memories of the original owner, even recalling the first stirrings of primal desire. Many things long forgotten by the original owner came rushing back clearly. He was now more genuine than the original self! Nick's expression finally relaxed, for he frequently procured incense herbs from old Moya, making him somewhat familiar with Krauen’s family. Those possessed by evil spirits often exhibited disordered memories and fragmented speech. Krauen's clarity of thought likely indicated that he was not possessed. As for why he survived the onslaught of evil spirits, it could only be attributed to the benevolence of the God of Flames. Nevertheless, the exorcism ceremony must proceed for the most accurate verification. “Child, please close your eyes and silently recite the scriptures of our Lord.” After Nick spoke, his voice suddenly rose in intensity: “In the name of the God of Flames, we expel you, every foul spirit!” As his tone escalated, the flames of the candles surged upward dramatically. Nick's voice became ethereal, echoing through the room as if it descended from the heavens. The silver powder on the ground transformed into a blazing red, casting Klaun's feet in a fiery landscape. The officers at the corners widened their eyes, witnessing this miraculous sight, their faith in the God of Flames deepening significantly. Unbeknownst to them, Krauen remained oblivious, eyes shut, feeling as though he were enveloped in warmth. “All malevolent forces, evil spirits, and monsters, keep your distance from the lambs who believe in our Lord, cease your torment.” At that moment, Nick lifted the sacred emblem before Krauen's forehead, declaring, “Evil spirit, reveal yourself!” The emblem burst forth with light, radiating like a fiery sun, only to vanish in an instant. As Nick observed wisps of black mist ascending from Klaun beneath the emblem, a jolt of alarm surged within him. Could it be that he truly was possessed by an evil spirit?! During the exorcism ritual, evil entities would be significantly weakened, ignited by holy light, revealing their presence. Only malevolent beings would emit black mist during the ceremony. As the dark vapor surrounding Krauen gradually dissipated, nothing abnormal surfaced; his expression even bore a hint of rapturous enjoyment. Nick tightened his grip on the sacred emblem, calling out, “Evil spirit, reveal yourself!” The emblem shone once more, and more black mist emanated from Klaun, though it was considerably fainter than before. Krauen felt two waves of warmth coursing through his body, which brought him a sense of relief. After a while, hearing no further commotion, he opened his eyes, only to meet Nick's puzzled gaze. Could it be that only remnants of the evil spirit's influence lingered? Nick asked, perplexed, “What do you feel now? Do you experience any discomfort?” “I feel an abundance of strength coursing through me!” Krauen declared, clenching his fists, “It’s quite invigorating; Father, could you perhaps administer two more?” “Ah,” Nick chuckled, “You wish for two more? You might be aiming to bankrupt me!” Originally, this ceremony was known as the sacred baptism. Believers would be immersed in the ocean of divine power, purifying their inner impurities, strengthening their essence, a privilege previously unavailable even to ordinary nobles. Exorcism was merely a supplementary function. The candles and the powder used in the ritual demanded substantial finances to procure from the church; otherwise, the church's allowances would prove insufficient. Nick suddenly broke into a smile: “Of course, the cost of a sacred ceremony is 50 gold shields. You’ve received two baptisms, totaling 100 gold shields. Do you wish for two more?” While I too benefited from the blessings of the ceremony, you must cover all material costs in full! Klaun’s smile froze upon hearing the priest’s words. 100 gold shields? He might as well resort to robbery! Did you proceed without my consent? Nick's smile grew ever more affable as he gently suggested, “If you do not wish to undergo another sacred baptism at this time, let’s settle the account. Would you prefer cash or monthly payments? The monthly rate has a very low interest, only five ten-thousandths daily.” “Father, why is the ceremony so expensive?” Klaun replied with a forced smile, feeling cheated; his resentment simmered beneath the surface, but he maintained a pleasant demeanor. In the Kingdom of Faruk, few dared to confront the followers of the God of Flames. Nick feigned profundity as he remarked, “It is not costly; rather, the prices of these items are simply not accessible to the average person.” He silently added, I am merely selling the same items twice, as compensation for the consumption of the sacred site’s accumulated divine power.
