ENEMIES IN ONE ROOF

"What? That can't be!" Selene protested as soon as she heard that she was moving out of the Vale's residence. She knew that this would happen, but not too soon. "You have no choice, Selene. Let us obey what the Blackwells want." Her father suddenly spoke. He was standing on the doorstep of her room, watching all the maids packing her things. Selene turned to him and gave him a look of disbelief. "And you allowed them to take your daughter like this?" No matter how much she tried to stop them, they were not listening. Again, her feelings won't matter. Then, she realized those words were the exact statement Ace told him last night. After packing all her things, the guards from Blackwell's residence finally asked her to leave the place. She intentionally didn't prepare herself or even change her sleeping attire to prove to the Blackwells that she's against their notice. She felt like a child left behind by her parents with people whom she didn't know. As she left the mansion, she gave a cold stare toward her parents for letting this thing happen. She started to despise them for being like this to her. When they arrived, the Blackwells' mansion was far more huge than she expected. Her residence was just half of the Blackwells'. The place was furnished with sophistication. The whole place represented their name because the walls were painted black and had tinted windows. "Get your hands off of me!" She demanded and forcefully removed the hands of the guards from her wrists. Right now, she was standing in front of the Blackwells' mansion. As the guards pressed the double glass door in front of her, a huge living room approached her. There was a gigantic chandelier at the center of the ceiling, which illuminated the whole place. "Finally, you're here." From the stairs, there she saw Mr. Blackwell, Zane's father, approaching her. She didn't give any reaction to it and remained steady in her place. Yet, her reaction suddenly changed when she finally saw Zane standing beside him. When their eyes met, Selene glared at her. Zane noticed her sleeping attire. He smirked in disbelief and looked away. "From now on, you will be staying here. So, you practice being one of us." Zane's father added. "So, I'll leave you two now." Zane and Selene were left in the living room in awkward silence. "Are you happy now?" Selene sarcastically asked with crossed arms, staring at Zane. "As if I wanted this thing to happen. I never wanted you here either." He coldly replied. For the second time, Zane scanned Selene's outfit. He couldn't contain his laughter as he stared at her, yet he tried to compose himself. "Where the hell is my room, then?" Selene asked abruptly. "How would I know? As if I care where you would sleep." Zane was about to leave Selene behind when he noticed that the guards were carrying Selene's things to his room. He immediately stopped them and asked, "Where are you bringing those?" "We are told to bring Miss Vale's things from your room." That struck him. "What?" "That can't be happening! I don't want to sleep in one word with this psycho!" Selene exclaimed in panic. As soon as he heard those words, he turned and went to his father's office. Barging in without knocking, he saw his father sitting in his chair. "What do you think you're doing?" Zane asked. This time, he was really angry. "I agreed to everything you wanted me to do, but what is happening now? Are you letting that woman sleep in my room? Tell me, what is your real intention with this?" "You're going to be married soon. So, what's the point of separating rooms? Both of you could practice living like a married couple already." "This is bullshit!" Zane exclaimed and left the room. Selene saw Zane coming down the stairs. She was about to speak, but when she saw his reaction, she chose to remain silent. That was the first time she saw him like that. She suddenly felt fear creep in as he passed by. Zane left her dumbfounded and drove his car. "Miss Selene, your things are settled. You can check the room now." Selene followed the maid as she led her to the room. She was aware that the room she would be staying in was Zane's, but no matter how much she tried to disagree, again, she had no other choice but to follow the rules of the Blackwells. The maid left her inside the room. And as she roamed around, the place was much bigger than hers in Vale's residence. There she saw a king-sized bed. On the other side was his office table. Some shelves serve as the background of his office. He has a big closet that is in the other room. It was like a chamber in another room. The clothes were meticulously hung and folded. He also has a large collection of shoes. The bathroom has a complete set of skincare, and Selene couldn't help but laugh because of that. Zane was a mafioso, but still knows how to take care of his skin, though. Later that night, as the water flowed from the shower, Selene was taking her bath. Selene was still trying to figure things out. She couldn't believe she was staying in the Blackwells' mansion. She never dreamt of being part of the Blackwell family as well. Things happened so fast that she couldn't even remember where it all started. Yet, there was one good thing that happened; she forgot about Ace for a while just by thinking about staying in the Blackwells. Selene was currently drying her hair using a towel when suddenly the door opened. While facing the mirror, her eyes were shocked to see Zane standing behind her. At that moment, she instantly covered her body with a towel. Zane's eyes scanned her from head to toe. "What are you doing here? Can't you see that I'm still using the bathroom?" Selene exclaimed. Zane remained silent and walked towards her. As he came closer, Selene's heart was pounding loudly. When Zane stopped, they were inches away from each other. "Move..." Zane suddenly spoke. Their eyes met. And from that moment, there was an awkward silence surrounding them. Selene couldn't do anything because she was cornered by Zane. Zane's stares didn't leave her. And to her surprise, Zane carried her and let her sit on the sink. Zane's face was too close to hers. "Zane, what do you think you're doing?"
