Chapter Six The hamlet at the end of the line turned out to be the biggest of the bunch. It had all the usual facilities: Saloon, general store, slave barn, a small doctor's office, and a couple of wood frame houses that Alexa supposed the staff lived in. But there was also an actual horse barn where the stagecoach teams were changed and housed, a two-story building that advertised itself as a rooming house but was actually more like a small hotel, with a one-story restaurant attached, and a few more frame houses. Everything was built to look like an old Western set.
