The rest of the day and evening was spent in a happy whirl of celebration while Christine and I slowly accustomed ourselves to the new mental landscape of being legally bound to each other. After the ceremony Id turned off her speech-inhibitor for the rest of the day and she was soon prattling on to everyone about how happy she was, though I kept her still with her hands fastened securely at her waist, holding her bouquet. She, as do all brides in their gowns, revelled in the attention she was paid by our friends and even became effusive about describing her nose rings and how permanent they were.
