His Confession

909 Words
Brown and Brian waited anxiously outside Aurora's hospital room. "This is all your fault," Brown accused, his voice laced with anger. Brian sighed, unfazed. His priority was Aurora's safety. The doctor emerged, relieving their tension. "Aurora's fine, just resting. You can see her shortly." Brown and Brian exhaled, gratitude washing over them. "I'll be back soon," Brown said, before departing. However, he didn't return. Brian stayed overnight, vigilant, ensuring Aurora's steady recovery. Hours passed, and Brian's thoughts lingered on the events leading to Aurora's hospitalization. His concern for her deepened. Aurora woke up feeling, her head throbbing. She opened her eyes slowly and found Brian asleep on the couch. “Brian?” She called softly. He sprang awake rushing to her side. "Princess, how are you feeling?” He asked curiously. He was very worried and wasn’t doing a good job hiding it. Aurora noticed his worries and tried to reassure him. "Brian, I’m okay” Aurora said. His relief was palpable. "I’m so sorry princess, I never meant for you to get hurt” Brian apologized. "Technically you didn’t hurt me, brown did” Aurora replied smiling faintly and Brian gave a weak laugh acknowledging the truth. She glanced the room looking for brown and Brian explained to her that he had left. "I could be dying and he wouldn’t even care” Aurora sighed. “He waited till you were fine before leaving” Brian defended brown. Brian got the doctors to check on Aurora just to be certain she’s completely fine. Brown returned the next day and met Aurora awake chatting with Brian. “Hi babe, I didn’t know you were already up” brown greeted giving her a peck on her head. "I texted you updates” Brian answered and brown gave an excuse of being busy. Brian left to sort out her medical bills and Aurora protested brown should do that since he was the one that got her in the hospital in the first place but Brian didn’t agree to it and still handled the bills. Brain returned to Aurora’s hospital room and found her asleep. The drugs they administered to her makes her feel sleepy. "I think it’s best Aurora stays with me while she’s recovering” Brian suggested to brown. "Stop making it sound like she fell from a plane” brown scoffed. Brian chose to ignore Brown’s sarcastic comment. "She will be Better taken care of with me, I have staffs who would be able to attend to her at all times” brian replied. "Send the staff to my place then let them care for her there” brown retorted. "Let’s not make this an issue” Brian pleaded and brown glared at him. "Let’s not make it an issue?, well too late, we already had an issue when you started taking my fiancée on dates, buying her diamonds and flowers” brown replied, his voice higher than normal. "She’s my friend “ Brian replied calmly trying to suppress his own anger. “I don’t care, all I care about is that you are causing issues for us and I don’t want it” brown continued. "What do you even mean?” Brian asked frustrated with brown. "Aurora is half expecting me to treat her the way you treat her and you know I can’t do that” brown replied. "What’s wrong with the way I treat her?” Brian asked. "I just need you to respect boundaries” brown answered. "Oh guess who now knows a thing or two about boundaries“ Brian replied mockingly . Their gaze held and brown remembered how Brian always told him about his feelings for Aurora and how he went behind Brian to court Aurora. Brian forgave him but brown is still haunted by his act of betrayal. "You know what, she can stay with you. I’m going out of town for a while and I need to know she’s safe” brown surrendered and Brian sighed relieved. "Better “ he replied. "Brown agreed I could stay with you?” Aurora asked again. "Yeah princess. The doctor said you can be discharged tomorrow so I’m taking you to my place” Brian replied. "Okay. Thank you and I’m sorry for any inconvenience” Aurora said. "Don’t be silly princess, you know I will watch over you anytime” Brian reassured. "Wouldn’t Samantha be offended that I’m staying at your place?” Aurora asked hoping not to interfere in his relationship. "We broke up princess” Brian answered. "Why? She’s such a lovely girl” Aurora pressed. "It didn’t just work” Brian shrugged. "It’s high time you open your heart to love and commitment” Aurora said holding his hand. "I did but I was extremely heartbroken and she doesn’t even know about it” Brian replied stroking her hand. "Who? When was that? Why didn’t you tell me?” Aurora asked, her grip tightening on his hand wondering why he kept it from her. "It’s all in the past now and I didn’t lose her completely so I’m content with what I got” Brian answered, his expression sad. He got up to kiss Aurora on the forehead "Get some sleep princess. I will do same”. Aurora felt an unfamiliar pang of jealousy in her, she was always the primary woman in Brian’s life, she wondered who the mysterious girl was that captured his heart and left him hurt.
