Chapter 8
Merciless!
Kaius Ravensworth.
“If it was the key I gave to David, where would I keep the flash?” I muttered more to myself than Desmond. “And what nonsense woman are you talking about in this serious situation?”
He shrugged while thinking hard. “I would have asked if you lodged into the hotel that night, but that would be a stupid question. You hate hotels. And then again… this is you stepping into a hotel room with this beautiful woman hooked on your arm.” He shook his head. “Is she your conquest for the year? Why does she look familiar though?”
“As a matter of fact, I lodged into the hotel that night.” There was no point lying. Speaking of that night, I just realized that I haven't seen Tori at work for a week now.
“With that woman?” He was shocked, and I understood why.
I f****d all my conquest either in my office or in an anywhere I saw fit, except taking them to hotels or bringing them home. Tori was an exception because, well, I was about to use her and trash her since she had started trusting me. I hated being questioned by lowlifes like her, and she always questioned my decisions in the company. I gave her something, her sister's health, and she was going to be moved to give me anything I wanted. This was the perfect opportunity to taste what she felt was something worth keeping from me. I wasn't surprised when I woke up to find an empty bed.
I was sure she fled because it was her first time, but I didn't care. After this issue with the flash was over, I would pursue her again or I could find any other conquest, but my company mattered the most. If I got horny, I would just bend Catherine over and f**k my frustrations into her until I'm satisfied.
“It was just a perfect opportunity, nothing more to it.” I replied nonchalantly and went straight to what really mattered. “If I forgot it there, which is highly unlikely, the staff would have cleaned up the room by now.”
“You just have to speak to the owner of the hotel beforehand so that they would start searching, or maybe the staff had already found it.” Desmond offered, his eyes still on the screen, going through the footage. He tilted his head and smiled again, the corners of his mouth lifting.
“What is it?” I stared at him warily, suspicion filling my voice.
“Ever since you went in with her, you spent more than two hours bro.” His smirk widened even further. “I knew you were good, but you're just too good… You gave her a f**k she would never forget.”
I smiled at that. “Yeah. Of course, she won't.”
Even if I took her virginity, I was gentle with her. I remembered how she thrust her hips to try to meet me, and how her back curved when she was deeply into it. Heh… At least I set a standard for her to look out for once she continues her relationship life.
“Why is she sneaking out though?” He asked, almost roaring in laughter and I peered into the screen, watching her with him.
She had her heels and bag in one hand and a handkerchief in the other hand, tiptoeing out of the room as if she didn't want to disturb me. Her shoulders sagged when she closed the door behind her and I could see the faint flush in her cheeks as she leaned against the door to catch her breath. I chuckled to myself.
“What color did you say the flash was again?” Desmond asked from my side, and I couldn't help the frown that formed on my face.
“What? Silver and black. Why?” I asked as I leaned into his seat again to look at the screen.
“Look.” He pointed at her hand, where she held the handkerchief.
She was rushing to stow away what she held. she quickly stuffed everything into her small purse, and there it was… The flash drive stuck between the handkerchief.
“I guess you've narrowed down your search.” Desmond gave me a corny smile.
I huffed in annoyance and went back into the car with Desmond following behind me, and I slammed the accelerator, lurching the car out of the parking lot, on my way to her house.
*
My hand rapped on the door for over five minutes, but there was no answer from inside.
“Hello?” Desmond called into the window, and it strangely echoed. “You say she works for you? You're really crazy, you know. Like, how and why should you know every detail of your staff? Up until their house address!”
I gritted my teeth in annoyance, ignoring him.
“Are you looking for someone?” An old woman wobbled over to us from the opposite street, she had a small smile on her face as she stared at us.
“Yes.” Desmond answered for me. “We are looking for the woman who lives here.”
“Oh, you mean our sweet Tori?” She asked, her sentence slowly coming out of her mouth as if she were struggling to speak. “Tori sold the house and travelled out. It has been a week now since she left.”
A week? That meant she left that night. Wait. Was she using me all along? Did she know about the flash? Was that her plan all along? My anger bubbled below the surface as I thought of the hidden motive behind her action. Was she being sent by someone? Was she being paid to do so? I guess she was. I remember that she had a sick sister. Of course, she would do anything for money at that point.
“Let's go, Desmond!” I snarled in anger and turned on my heel into my car.
I swiped on my phone and sent her picture to Sebastian. He had to find out where she was, and I would make sure she felt pain that she had never felt before. I would start with her sister!
“Do you know where she is?” Desmond asked as he entered the car, closing the door gently.
“Sebastian will find out.” I answered, my hands tightened on the steering wheel as I sped out of the small and dirty neighborhood.
“Before that, let's see what we can find out about her. Where she went next, maybe we can find who she gave the flash to… that's if she didn't take it mistakenly.”
“Trust me, she didn't take it by mistake.” I answered in a hard voice.
“You can't be so sure, Kai.”
“I am!” I deadpanned and watched with the corner of my eyes as he called the security team from the hotel again.
He asked about her, and his jaw clenched immediately.
“What is it?” I asked after noting the change in his expression.
He pursed his lips and pressed it into a thin line before looking at me, “Your mother had them wipe the remaining parts of the footage.”
“My mother…" I breathed out. “You mean my stepmother, Eleanor, right?”
This woman was beginning to push my limits. And if this woman was in the cohorts with Eleanor, then I would be merciless with her. With both of them!
