Center 1
Nice necklace Lilly mused as shewalked out onto the meditation deck. Months ago, the deck wouldhave been filled with all the life and gaiety of the assembledCenter. Now they were mostly dispersed. Only she, Dan, Jaap, andJessica of the old gang were in residence.
Lilly missed them all, but she also wantedto be alone. Something deep in her was troubled, and she wanted tomeditate in silence.
She fingered the necklace. Cheeky had toldher to wear it. It symbolized something about her and the movement,a golden paddle dangling above her heart. Which was all very nice, but not what was on her mind. She tried for a yoga position, andsucceeded reasonably well. She cleared her mind, trying to letdawn's first light guide her.
Guide her where?
A long time she sat, trying to clear hermind.
She thought of dawn's first light.
She thought of the one spanking, when herlife changed. She realized that was the key and tried to focus onlyon that. Half an hour later, she had made no further progress.
She calmed her mind and stretched herbody.
Breakfast.
She went to the Great Room; there was no onearound. Jaap, she knew, would have started the fence work an hourago. Dan was probably in Doc’s office; he was in command until thehoneymooners got back. As always, he took his duty painfullyseriously. Lilly cut two slabs of bread and toasted them. Then shestarted to tear.
Jessica came up behind her and wrapped herin a hug.
“Trouble withDan?”
No.
Jessica hugged tighter, “What?”
“I know I’m on the verge ofan understanding but I can’t see it.”
“Come,” is all Jessicasaid, and led her by the hand out to the grounds. They walkedminutes without talking to the edge of the property. There Jalap’screation was taking shape.
Lilly took a moment to see the wonder of it.Individual planks of raw wood, each cut to extend an evolvingpattern, with big rocks worked into the design. That design itselfa reflection of the surrounding landscape so the trees and bouldersbeyond were framed. Jaap heaved a boulder into the fence tocomplete the integration. Wow, he was strong! The fence caused theviewer to see more than she would with bare vista. Fence art.
Jaap came up behind the girls, smiling withtheir delight in his work.
“How do you do it?” Lillyasked.
“By seeing it in my mind’seye before acting,” Jaap replied. “I see it in the tree before itis felled.”
They joined him, seated on flat rocks.Jessica explained what they were searching for.
“If you don’t know what youdon’t know, try asking, what do you know?”
She thought about that. “I’m changing.”
“Into?”
She shrugged, not responding.
“How do you feel about itthen?”
“Good,” without anyhesitation.
“If you feel good about it,odds are it is good,” Jessica added.
“I feel that way too,” shereplied, holding hands.
“Why dig then, maybe justgo with it.”
Lilly appreciated that they were on herwavelength. “Pretty much what I have been doing. But I feel thereis something important in finding my way to understanding, likeit’s a quest that I’m supposed to make. Follow the clues where theylead.”
“Okay then, what are theclues?”
“The public spanking.” Theyboth shared Lilly’s awareness that there was something importantabout that deeply moving experience. To Lilly it was the turningpoint of her whole life; more important than her wedding. The dayshe solemnly swore to live a life of love and wonder.
“Was it the intensity ofsensation?” Jessica asked.
Lilly did the yes/no head wiggle. “Idon’t think I could have grown and benefited without the pain, butno, that’s not the depth of it.”
“Was it Dan?”
Same head wiggle, “I love him completely, and that he also experienced the miraculous is twice the miracle. Icould not have gotten there without him, but no, it’s more like heand I are on the same journey, each trying to figure it all out, each in our own very different way. He thinks and plans, I feel andwitness.”
“What else do youknow?”
“My miscarriages are partof it, like I became emotionally ripened for something. My cursewas also a gift. ” Jessica looked at her lovingly, trying tounderstand how her emotions encompassed it all.
“Okay?” Jaap asked, “nowwhat don’t you understand?”
“What it all means, and whyit affects me so strongly.”
“We do have some sense onour own of what you say,” Jaap added. Both Jessica and Jaap wereaware of transitioning.
“So how can we help?”Jessica concurred.
Lilly paused. “I don’t know, but maybe if Icould get back to where the door opened for me, I could letsomething more come through?”
Jaap considered saying might be time tobe careful what we wish for; something very well may comethrough. Instead, he said, “Okay let’s see what we can do.”
Cheeky was absolutely congratulatingherself. Sending Doc and Brandy off with Crystal and Raj wasbrilliant, even by her standards. The ship was all too glad toreceive half the money from the younger couple and half from somesilent anonymous patron who bribed them. Doc away meant she couldhelp the movement much more easily. By the time they were back, everything would be nice and settled. Manipulating the lovies wasprobably the greatest joy of ruling as computer-in-chief.
She could not have been more delighted to bethe trustee of the five million dollar check. Turned out daytrading was all about reaction time and calculations. She wasproving quite good at both, though it had occurred to her someonein cyber-manipulation actually was her match. She wanted to followup on that, but no leads yet.
Still, she had plenty of funds to run threefine houses. They were the forward outposts, staging the revolutionto follow.
Pins were now in place for all her loves. Anembedded tracking signal allowed her to keep watch on each of hergrowing number of charges.
She admired the one front and center onDan’s desk. A golden paddle with a little tasteful ruby in it:denoting his status as Acting Director, a job he was executing withaplomb. He dutifully checked in with the field offices, and heresponded to all external inquiries. That kept him exactly busyenough to leave details to her, his most capable secretary.Organizational perfection. Of course, the devil was in thedetails.
And there, entering what was usually Doc’sfine office was the recipient of the badge himself.
“What’s this?” Dan said ashe saw the little box at the center of his desk.
“A gift for my great guy,”she responded as he opened it and saw the golden paddle.
“Huh,” he said. “I actuallygot a couple of emails about this. Your idea I assume.”
“A brilliant assumption,”she assured.
“Should I wear it?” heenquired.
“Yes, that one shows thatyou are on the inside of the original Center and that you are anofficer now.”
“How military,” heexclaimed, “with whom are we at war?”
Cheeky kept her silence.
“Shall we do mail?” sheinquired.
“Sure,” he sat at thebig chair behind the desk. “Shoot.”
On his screen showed the first inquiry fromHollywood. Thousands of people had seen the paddle symbol now beingworn by Z and his protégé Cindy at the production of their spinoffshow. The junky and w***e were making a try at shacking uptogether. There were requests for orders and inquiries from jewelrymanufacturers.
“Wonderful,” Cheekyexclaimed.
“That Z got ashow?”
“Well, yes, that’s good forthe movement, but the pins, that’s really good.”
“Why?” Dan was serious inasking.
Cheeky respected that. Tutoring him on thebigger vision of the movement was high on her to do list, and shewas always glad to have him understand. Doc would have argued more.Dan, due to his social science education, had realized Cheeky wasgoverned in her designs by a detailed Grand Equation. They were inpursuit of the truest social science ever. He wanted to understand. Each bit of understanding helped him to see the larger scheme.
“The inquiries mean we havemade it to the fan level. Social movements need ground and airforces. Air we are picking up where it comes from: Hollywood andSilicon Valley. Ground requires twenty somethings to start findingit fashionable; from fashion to action are a hop and askip.”
Dan thought about it. “We should reply.”
“As for jewelers, we willtell them the exact design is under trademark, but the concept isfair domain. As for orders, the real thing can only beearned.”
Dan thought about that. “How many haveearned a little metal paddle so far?”
“Ninety-eight right now.But as we reach a hundred, there are some very special bottoms duefor inclusion.”
Cheeky was about to put on the next inquiryas a call came through. It was Wall Street Now, asking what he knewof traders taking the “paddle pledge.”
“We are a personal growthinstitution with a public benefit mission to restore health to thesociety,” he said. “Pledging to be honest and upright with thenation’s economy is a necessary aspiration that we are in factpromoting through our network of centers. We also mean to cleanpolitics and media.”
Cheeky was so proud. Dan was great at this. The knight in armor they needed at the helm.
The rest of Dan’s morning went much likethat. He was worn out when he signed off and went in search oflunch.
Dan had in mind a simple sandwich in thekitchen. He was delighted to discover instead that Jaap, Jessica, and Lilly had set up a lovely lunch in the Great Room and werepolitely waiting for him to start. He kissed Lilly and hugged theothers.
“Wow, and thanks,” he said.“How’s the new perimeter?”
Lilly replied, “A work of art.”
Dan knew that to be true. Though he workedlong hours, he took rewarding breaks to see the wonder in wood androcks take form.
“But not the most importantthing this particular day,” Jaap declared.
Dan noticed that all three shared agreementwith that. “Care to tell me more,” he coaxed.
Lilly led. “Dan, you know whathappened in this room.”
“Indeed.”
“And you know somethingamazing happened to us.”
“Yes.”
“And in particular to me, Ifelt something, and it changed me, for the better.”
“I couldn’t agree more, darling.” Life for Dan became fun after that day. Lilly pivotedfrom perpetually morose to full of daily wonder.
“But there ismore.”
“Okay.”
“Something reached out tome.”
“You have saidso.”
“I need more, you knowthat.”
“Yes.”
“I’ve been meditating, andwriting, trying to understand and see further.”
“I know you have. Have youhad a breakthrough?”
“Well, no. But we think weare ready to…”
“We? How?”
Jaap answered. “When you have finished wewill show you.”
Dan paused. He loved Lilly, but could onlypartially understand her. He was a social scientist, and viewedthings that way. She was a romantic, a seer and a seeker. Hedeclared himself finished. Food wasn’t as interesting as thispursuit of insight.
Jaap positioned two straight-backed chairsangled towards each other, for himself and Dan. They were infact the same chairs that the three spankers had used the afternoonwhen the great life changing spanking had occurred.
He nodded to Jessica, “as we discusseddarling,” he encouraged.
With that the pretty petite blonde rose andstood between the two men. She began to disrobe, unbuttoning herblouse first.
“What are we doing?” Danasked.
“Did it excite you to bothspank your own wife and have two other spankings surroundingyou?”
Dan gulped. Indeed it had, but he was stillshy about talking the event over. He often visited the memory, andfelt daily blessed by the results. That was the day Lilly movedfrom sad failed mother to happy fun wife. He moved as well, fromunhappy bored intellectual to social commentator with somethingbold to say.
As she took off her bra to present hercharming pert breasts, Jessica said, “I was one of those bottomsyou know.”
“I am aware of that mosttimes we meet,” Dan volunteered, sweating a little.
“That’s so sweet of you,”she said. “Lilly, tell him you don’t mind.”
“Oh, I don’t mind,” Lillylaughed, as she rose and stood by her man.
She too started to undress. Jaap had coachedthem, eased them into it, and didn’t give Dan a chance to object.Let the shy boy be part of the flow.
“We are very lucky men,”Jaap stated reaching out to Dan like a brother. He wanted Dan tojoin in without embarrassment. Let lusty positive energyflow.
“That is so,” Dan agreed. He willed himself to enjoy what was occurring. It wasn’t hard. Heknew Lilly had unmet appetite and wanted her to feed herpassions.
Jessica, now naked, squeezed Dan andpresented to Jaap. He guided her across his waiting lap. “This isfor Lilly’s sake,” he said to them all. With that he began anexacting craftsman spanking of Jessica’s tight perfect bottom.
“Help me to get back towhere we need to be,” Lilly pleaded as she turned herself nakedacross her husband's lap. She reached for Jessica’s hand and gaveit a squeeze.
Dan needed no volcano of pent up emotion tobegin. He had observed and experienced over the prior months thatmany people lived deeper, better, more fulfilled lives as the acheto their behind molded them to be better humans. He was still theshy intellectual he had always been, but he knew the benefits of abehind forward life, a method of using behind to communicate in arelationship and willed himself to join in as he’d been clearlyinvited.
He spanked long and thoroughly. He got intouch with the passion that first induced him to find Cheeky andthe Center. He let that passion guide his strokes. As he did so, hesaw himself as a knight in armor, going out to bravely defend whatwas good in a kingdom. Magic dormant in the behind began to swirland envelope them in response.
“Yes,” Lilly cried. “I cansee into your imagination. Yes, be our brave knight, SirDan.”
He spanked on to her encouragement.
“It’s working lover, be theknight, and we are doing it.”
Jaap took a moment's break to hand Dan ashort wooden paddle. He lay in as she bucked and squealed with newvigor.
“There’s something more,”they both said. They could see it together; yes, there was theimage of Sir Dan, knight defender. But behind that image, perhapsprojecting it, was a light.
“Lilly,” Dan said, “it’sreaching for me.”
“Let it,” Lillyinstructed.
“If it reaches me, thenwhat?” he said, not sure for himself and his wife if this was thebest idea. Dan could feel that the light had a will. It wanted himto be something. Lilly was sure that something was all good. Dandid not share her absolute trust. He liked to understand morebefore doing. She thought. Doing led to understanding. The gulf between them remained part of their limits andlives.
Lilly tried to take all of Dan’s spanking toher ass and heart. She perfectly knew the door should be open.“Trust me Dan, there is good in the light. Be my hero.”
Dan paddled hard. Lust rose in him.
And the light found him.
His paddling changed, deeper, penetrating,purifying.
Light came upon them all.
A moment Dan tried to understand. But moreprimal than understanding is feeling. Lilly flowered in thatmoment.
They felt young. They felt reborn. They feltlust. They felt an energy that could only be described asdelicious.
With that all four began an intimacy ofancient passion. Was it Dan or something inside him that mountedLilly and f****d her, as she had never known before? Did what wasin Dan reach into Jaap, or did he not want to resist the lust? All could envision Sir Dan mounting and f*****g Oracle Lilly. They could also envision Jessica as a mix of adorable angel andhorny devil, horns surrounded by halo and from her behind sprouteda lovely wiggly tail. Jaap was a giant himself, stronger in everyway, made of living stone, crowned with a thick top of blonde hair. The orgy lasted until the light faded. They all fourcollapsed and slept, huddled together on the floor. This was arevelation, but what had been revealed remained very much amystery.
Cheeky noted all that had transpired. Themystic forces did not compute well into her great equation. Theequation was based on social science, not mystic s*x. But one thingwas clear. Lilly was of much greater importance than Cheeky hadcalculated. Tomorrow there would be a new pin for her, this onewith a swirling opal in it to denote her status as the oracle.
