It was wood. Wood was of trees. Treesgave us switches and paddles and were a part of the wonder ofcreation. Nick mused. Spankings gave off energy. He alwaysunderstood that spankings opened a deeper level of love than humansotherwise experienced. It was psychological; to give one’s bottomwas to give one’s heart in a more true and physical way. It createda miracle that he had witnessed. Obviously there was much more: a powerbeyond his reckoning was released. Might the wood of his brush bebrought to life by that power? How could he know to the contrarywith any certainty? The little wizard seemed pleased with him, like he was learning something elemental. Some of the spanking stayed in the bottom, and was manifest in human change. Might the brush have retainedsome of the lingering magic? Nick
