The Journey Of The Forgotten Princess

A palace could be filled with thousands of people and still feel completely empty. Lyra Blackwood learned that lesson the day she realized nobody would stand beside her. Not the elders who once bowed before her father. Not the warriors who once protected her family. Not the servants who once rushed to fulfill her every wish. Not even the people who had watched her grow from a little girl into the last remaining member of the Blackwood bloodline. Everyone had chosen silence. And silence, Lyra discovered, could hurt more than hatred. ⸻ Days had passed since she was forced out of her own room. The room that once held memories of laughter and love now belonged to Isabella, Victor’s daughter. Lyra had moved into a smaller chamber at the edge of the palace. It was not hers. Nothing felt like hers anymore. Every corner of the palace reminded her of what she had lost. The grand staircase where her father used to carry her. The garden where her mother taught her about herbs. The training grounds where Kael promised to make her a strong warrior. The palace was filled with ghosts of a life she could never return to. But Lyra held onto one belief. As painful as things were, this was still her home. She was still Lyra Blackwood. The Alpha’s daughter. The last princess of the Royal Blood Pack. Or so she thought. ⸻ The announcement came on a cold morning. Lyra was called to the main council chamber. The same room where her father once made decisions that protected thousands of wolves. The same room where Kael fought for justice. But now, she stood before a council that barely looked at her. Victor sat on the Alpha throne. Her father’s throne. Her brother’s throne. The sight alone made her heart ache. “Lyra,” Victor said. His voice was calm. Almost gentle. But she had learned that kindness from him always came with a hidden price. “You have reached an age where you need proper guidance.” Lyra frowned. “Guidance?” Victor nodded. “You have spent your entire life inside the palace. You have not learned the responsibilities expected of a future mate.” The words confused her. A future mate? She was barely beginning to understand herself. “What are you talking about?” Victor leaned back. “I have decided that you will leave the palace.” The room went silent. For a moment, Lyra thought she had misunderstood. “Leave?” Victor nodded. “You will be sent to a small village outside our territory.” Her heart dropped. “Why?” No one answered. She looked around the room. Searching. Hoping. Waiting for someone to speak. Someone to say this was unfair. Someone to remind Victor that she was the daughter of the late Alpha. But nobody moved. Nobody defended her. The elders avoided her eyes. The warriors stood silently. The people who once called her princess watched as she was being taken away. ⸻ “Uncle, this is my home.” Her voice trembled. “My parents lived here. My brother lived here.” Victor’s expression did not change. “Your parents are gone.” Lyra swallowed painfully. “And Kael?” A brief silence. Then Victor said: “Kael is gone too.” The way he spoke their names made her feel like they were nothing more than old memories. Not people. Not family. Just obstacles that had disappeared. ⸻ “But why a village?” Lyra asked. Victor gave the excuse he had prepared. “You need to learn the duties of a proper Luna.” Lyra stared at him. “A Luna?” “Yes.” Victor folded his hands. “A future Luna must know how to manage a home, care for others, prepare meals, understand traditions, and support her future mate.” Lyra’s eyes widened. “You are sending me away to learn household duties?” Victor nodded. “It will make you better prepared for your future.” But his eyes said something else. There was no warmth. No concern. No intention of bringing her back. This was not guidance. This was removal. ⸻ Lyra looked at him carefully. “How long will I stay there?” Victor smiled. “Until you are ready.” The answer was vague. Too vague. “But when I am ready, I can return?” For a moment, Victor said nothing. Then he gave a small smile. “Of course.” A lie. A carefully crafted lie. Because Victor had no intention of allowing the last Blackwood heir to return. As long as Lyra remained forgotten, she was harmless. A powerless princess in a small village could never challenge an Alpha sitting on the throne. That was what he believed. ⸻ The news spread quickly. The Alpha’s daughter was leaving. But the reactions were not what Lyra expected. Some whispered. “Maybe she is not fit to stay in the palace.” Others said: “The new Alpha knows what is best.” A few looked at her with pity. But pity was not enough. Pity did not stop injustice. Pity did not protect her. Pity did not fight for her. ⸻ The night before her departure, Lyra walked through the palace one final time. She touched the walls. The portraits of her family stared back at her. Her father’s proud expression. Her mother’s gentle smile. Kael’s confident eyes. She stood before their portraits for a long time. “I don’t know why this is happening.” Her voice broke. “I don’t know what I did wrong.” Tears filled her eyes. “But I promise…” She placed her hand over her heart. “I will not forget who I am.” ⸻ The next morning, a small carriage waited outside the palace gates. Not a royal carriage. Not an escort worthy of an Alpha’s daughter. Just a simple vehicle meant for an ordinary girl. Lyra stood with one small bag containing her few belongings. Everything valuable had been taken from her. Her jewelry. Her beautiful dresses. Her royal possessions. All that remained were memories. Before stepping inside, she looked back. The palace towers reached toward the sky. Once, it had been her home. Now, it was a place that rejected her. Nobody came to say goodbye. Nobody begged her to stay. Nobody reminded Victor that she belonged there. She was leaving alone. ⸻ Victor watched from the balcony. His expression was calm. Satisfied. The last obstacle to his complete control of the Royal Blood Pack was gone. He believed he had solved his problem. He believed Lyra would disappear into a forgotten village. He believed the world would forget the name Blackwood. But Victor made one mistake. He underestimated the girl he was sending away. He saw a weak princess. He did not see a future Luna. He saw someone powerless. He did not see someone who would one day return stronger than anyone expected. ⸻ As the carriage moved farther away from the palace, Lyra looked out at the road ahead. She did not know where she was going. She did not know what awaited her. She only knew that the life she knew was over. The princess of the Royal Blood Pack had fallen. But deep within her heart, something refused to die. Her pride. Her courage. Her bloodline. The moon watched silently as the forgotten princess began her journey. A journey that would change everything. Because sometimes… The person who is forced to leave the palace… Is the same person who will one day return to claim it.
