Nickolas POV
I was laying in bed playing grand theft auto doing random missions here and there. I thought about how nice it was to be over with Emily today. She’s grown on me and we have become closer. She told me about how she draws every now and again and I’ve noticed that she doodles a lot while in classes. I asked her what her hobbies were and she didn’t really have a clue, but I asked her about her drawings and writings. Seems to me that was what she strived to do anytime she had time. We text practically every day and I love it. I love hearing from her and I love being with her. Her voice is music to my ears and her smile just brightens my whole day. I can’t believe it’s been a whole month since we’ve met. The best month of my life honestly. I had friends and ex-girlfriends in my other town, but no one was like her.
We watched a movie today, but she fell asleep halfway through. I just let her sleep. She seemed so peaceful and beautiful that I didn’t want to wake her. Eventually I nodded off as well and woke up to the front door closing. I figured that was my que to leave before we got caught.
After being left in my thought I got bored playing my game and decided to play something else for a little bit before getting ready for bed. Eventually I got myself up and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face for the night. I put my phone on the charger after seeing if I had a message from Emily. Noticing I didn’t have any new notifications I figured she was still sleeping and rolled over to go to sleep.
I woke up to screaming sounds and things being pushed around coming from Emily’s window. I rolled over and got out of bed to get a closer look through her window. The blinds were drawn, but the window was open like we promised. Screams were reverberating all around I started to panic. What should I do? I can’t call the police I don’t want her to get into any more trouble. I can’t go over there myself, what if they hurt her even more than they already are?
At this point I can’t take it anymore. I get out through my window and rush over to hers quietly. I can see through the blinds from the side without being caught. “You! You aren’t supposed to go upstairs! How many times do we have to tell you that? You did not have permission, you did not have any laundry to put away.” I couldn’t tell if it was Emily’s father or her brother screaming at her. All I could hear was after each statement a blow was being thrown. I need to think. I need to have a plan. Why wasn’t Emily screaming for help? I was at the peak of my anxiety and couldn’t do anything yet.
I heard the door close. I pushed up the blinds and saw Emily. She has blood all over her face and her shirt was torn exposing bruises all over her abdomen. “I need to get her out of here” I thought to myself. I hiked myself back into my room real fast to grab a step stool. She’s not staying there anymore, at least not for tonight. We will figure everything else out later, but I’m not leaving her there anymore. She does not deserve this life.
I found the step stool in the hall closet next to the bathroom, walked out the front door, and went back to her window. I set the step stool up and got myself into her room without making a sound. I rushed over to her door quietly and locked it. I examined her body to make sure she didn’t have anything broken before moving her. I placed her on her bed carefully and rummaged through her drawers to grab a new set of clothes and grabbed her backpack shoveling as much clothes as I could inside of it. I checked under her pillow for her phone where she usually places it. It wasn’t there. I checked her bed side table and found it along with her charger I shoved those in the bag as well. I tossed her bag out the window before picking her back up. I lifted her window fully open to make it easier on me to step out with her in my arms bridal style.
After getting out of the window I laid her legs across my legs to be able to close her window back down along with her blinds. Knowing her family they will just break down her door. I scooped her legs over my forearm again and stepped down the step stool. I’ll be back for her bag and gather the step stool once I get her back in my house safe and sound.
After going back out to grab her bag and the stool I went back to my house and locked the door behind me. I made my way back to my room where Emily was and placed her bag by the door before heading to the bathroom to start the bath. She needs to be cleaned from all the blood. I made sure the water was warm enough for her and paced back to my room to fetch her.
As I looked at the beautiful girl before me I felt my heart breaking into so many pieces. I felt so bad for her. She didn’t deserve any of this at all. I will have to ask my parents tomorrow if she can live with us. She can’t endure anymore of this torture. I will take care of her.
I carefully took her shirt and pants off before placing her in the tub. I left her undergarments on, I just needed to get access to clean her face and body from the blood being everywhere. I grabbed a wash cloth, put some soap on it and gently cleaned her face. There were so many cuts that I will patch up once we are done. After her face is cleaned I cleaned the rest of her body.
We were back in my room once I patched up all the cuts and put cream on her bruises to help them heal a little faster. She was wrapped in a towel laying on my bed. I rummaged through her bag and grabbed a new set of clothes for her to wear. I dressed her back up and got in bed with her holding her closely to my chest. I wanted to be her saving grace. I will make sure she is able to stay here in my house. No one will ever touch her again and I will make sure of it. After about an hour of holding her I finally drifted off to sleep. I held her all night making sure she is safe and alright.
