To say she was not impressed with the dark haired woman before her was a lie, she had been dazed from the moment she walked through the doors.
Yet the script, it didn’t feel right—it didn’t meet her expectation maybe because she had memorized the script so much that it became lifeless and redundant.
With a sigh she clenched the script in her hand, her eyes glancing up to Luis who had been clapping his hands too enthusiastic — he really was such a fanboy.
“That was magnificent!” the man praised with a wide smile on his face. He hadn’t stopped clapping and if it weren’t for his inability to whistle, he surely would have been whistling as well.
On the other hand Miss Lexie Moa blushed furiously from his actions, a big embarrassed and dazed. Trying to hide the blush she placed her palms over both cheeks, light giggles echoed in the room.
It was melodic, light and unusually pleasing.
Rue watched as Miss Lexie shook her head rejecting each comment Luis threw at the poor woman. Her palms lowered from her face exposing the bright smile—If Luis hadn’t fainted yet, she might as well have.
Just looking at her she understood why he was so captivated with the actress. She was more than her enticing visuals—beautiful, yes that she was and very talented.
She could do a lot better at the audition if she was forced to not go by the lines, she had the perfect idea.
Rue tossed the cramped paper to the table before standing to her feet. “It all feels the same.” she bluntly said loud enough for the two to hear.
Luis turned his head so fast, she swore he might have cracked his neck. “What do you mean? She did great.” he hissed glaring at his friend.
And she ignored it, shrugging she made her way over to Miss Lexie taking small steps.
“Improvise miss.” she urged before a glare overtook her facial features directed to the woman.
All Luis could do was watch from behind the table, maybe she was on to something here.
“A rich stuck up rich girl like you with all the wealth and luxury at your feet does not need such a joke of employment. Why would you Jamie need a job, to make fun of me?” Rue’s voice came out cold.
To her shock, Lexie went into character perfectly.
Flipping her long dark hair over her shoulder she gave Rue a pointed look and elegantly walked to where she stood.
“I agree Louise, I don’t need a job. Matter of fact this ‘Job’ you live off is pathetic and if I wanted to mock you Louise I would have to go down on your level.” with one eye motion she stared at Rue up and down analysing her like a rotten piece of meat.
“It is very low if you ask me from all the way up here and I might end degrade to your ugly looks. Now the world can’t handle seeing two of you — it might end.” she smirked placing her hand over her shoulder.
Shoving the hand off her body she glared at Lexie, meeting her gaze that seemed not amused with her action.
“So I was correct you did come to mock me.” Rue clenched jaw deepening the glare.
Giggling she shook her head. “I have far better things to do then mock a joke.” again she placed her hand over her body, this time on her chin. Gripping it she pulled Rue’s face only inches from hers forcing the girl to meet her light brown eyes. “So give me my job?”
Rue shoved her away as light as she could, she didn’t want the woman to fall and hurt herself on an improvised audition.
“Go f**k yourself!” she hissed.
About to walk away Lexie gripped her forearm pulling her to her body. “Why would I when I have things like you dreaming of f*****g me Louise.” she whispered into Rue’s ear.
That line alone took all consciousness away from Rue, it sent a wave of shivers through her body. Or maybe it was the way her breath made her skin tingle—she was too close.
Lexie smirked. Letting her arm go she turned to Luis and took a bow, her hands over her stomach.
“And scene!” she cheered smiling brightly.
“Magnificent! I felt the tension from all the way here and fitting must I say for an enemy to lovers, slow burn movie.” Luis applauded causing the woman to giggle, he was so energetic every time everytime.
“Thank you!”
“What do you think Rue?”
All heads turned to her for an opinion at an instant.
She hadn’t been paying attention at all, well not to Luis of course. She had been caught staring at the woman who had happened to catch her giving her a skeptical stare.
Snapping her head towards Luis she smiled, “She’s a natural, she would do great she would do great as Jamie.” she commented avoiding meeting the woman’s gaze.
She wasn’t staring at the woman so much because of curiosity, not only that but her beauty. Her flawless smooth skin, the really light brown eyes and a perfectly natured curved body—that she managed to catch even in just a jeans trouser and the loosely fitting shirt.
It wasn’t a wonder how the Chinese woman had captured the entertainment industry in just a short time of debut.
“Well thank you.” Lexie’s voice echoed drawing her back from her thoughts.
Immediately Rue shook her head in opposition. “You shouldn’t thank me, it is all you Miss Lexie Moa, you are very talented.”
“Well I am because you pushed me to my best and simply didn’t settle on less.” the woman smiled kindly only causing Rue to smile back.
Taking her gaze to Luis she smiled at the man too. “See you soon?” she questioned looking between the two in the room.
Luis vigorously nodded. “See you! I’ll be in touch—I mean we’ll for professional reasons of course!” he corrected waving at the woman as she walked towards the door.
Rue chuckled waving back at Miss Lexie Moa before she disappeared behind the door.
And boy did a grown man squeal like a hormonal teen once the door shut closed.
