Chapter 9

My new job at Jack’s office.

I was working as an assistant to Jack Nolan, who became the new CEO of Nolan’s companies. My job was to answer his calls, schedule meetings, and to remind him of his meetings, his conferences, and his travels. The job was quite easy.

One day, Jack approached me, ‘Nora, you remember, you owe me a treat.’

‘Yes, I remember’, I smiled.

‘Let’s go for Lunch together today’. Saying this, he winked which was so charming. I too agreed. When I was boarding his car, all the coworkers stared at me with furious eyes. They must have cursed me for going out with the CEO of the company, but I just ignored them.

We went to an expensive restaurant for lunch that day. If I had to pay, I had to give my full month salary for just one meal.

I looked at the entrance in a gaze, ‘Jack, let’s go to a different restaurant’. He understood what I was thinking.

He chuckled and said, ‘you give treat on some another day. It’s my treat today.’

‘umm’, I said so cautiously and stood in hesitation.

He smiled again seeing my face, ‘Let’s go inside’.

He ordered many items from the menu and I never even heard a few of the items in my entire life. We both ate happily speaking a lot of stuff about some common interest.

I suddenly felt someone’s eyes on me, who was sitting in a table which was not too far away from our table. When I peered, s**t, it was Frank.

He looked different that day. He was wearing a black suit and was speaking with two other men who were sitting opposite to him and so I could not see the men’s faces. Frank was facing my direction and stared at me. I could see his cold face.

I could not eat my food after that, I had no idea what Frank would think about seeing me in a restaurant with another guy. Frank said something to the men and shook hands with them and approached me.

I became more and more anxious as he was walking towards me, he just stared at me and passed me. I exhaled strongly out of relief. Thank god, he didn’t speak to me in front of Jack. When I turned my head to see him, he already left the restaurant.

Ping.

A text from Frank, ‘waiting for you ... I want you to be outside in five minutes.’ What? How can I go outside when I was with Jack? It was not a good manner to leave while he was still eating. I felt so panic and it started sweating all over my face.

Jack noticed that I was feeling good, ‘Are you okay?’

‘Jack, I am not feeling good. I am sorry, can you please continue? I will go first’

‘What happened? Do you want to go to the hospital?’

‘No, no, I am fine. Just feeling a little headache. So, I will go home and take a rest. I will be fine. You please have your appetite.’.

He seemed worried to see my action, but I rushed outside and exhaled heavily. I searched for Frank, but I could not find him.

Abruptly an expensive Porsche car stopped next to me. I was staring at the car. When the door of the car opened, I saw Frank. I was super surprised. He tilted his head and gave an ice-cold look, ‘get in’.

I got into the car; I never had seen that much expensive car in my entire life. Though he was driving so fast, I felt like flying, it was so smooth. I was wondering how come Frank had a car like this. I peered at him and he seemed so angry.

‘you look so different today’, I started a casual conversation.

He did not say anything and was driving the car so fast.

‘whose car is this?’.

Still, he did not respond to me and stopped the car after a long time of the drive. It was a sideway of a highway where a lot of vehicles goes and comes.

I looked at him nervously. He straight away kissed me, kissed me so passionately and I was even feeling pain since he was pressing me hardly. He bit my lips and my neck which really made me shy and my body was shivering. I could hear his breath on my ears. He started to touch my waist and back. He slowly fondled there. He again kissed my lips and bit a little harsh, as I groaned, ‘ssss’.

Giving a cold stare, as I was moaning. He suddenly moved away, took a cigarette out from his pocket, and started smoking. When he was smoking, he stared at me for a long time which really made me so uncomfortable.

Finally, he broke the silence, ‘what are you doing there at the restaurant?’

‘I just came for lunch with my boss.’

‘boss? You are working at the hospital, right?’

‘Yeah, I was, they fired me after Lauren’s issue. No one hired me after that, but Jack offered me an assistant job’

‘Why didn’t you tell me any of this?’

‘I, I thought’, I stammered not knowing what to say.

He grasped my arm so tightly, ‘No matter what. Stay away from him. Find a new job’

‘A new job? No one’s offering me a job. I will at least work there until I get a new job. Please. please’, I said to him.

‘No’, he gave an abrupt answer.

I showed a pouted face like a poor puppy.

Seeing my face, he smiled. He looks stunningly handsome when he smiles, but he always keeps his face so grumpy.

‘Whose car is this? And you are wearing a suit, you look great today.’

‘This is Super Lilly’s car.’

I already was suspecting that this car should be Super Lilly’s. I was a little afraid and I was not feeling comfortable after he said that it was Super Lilly’s car.

‘Let us go home’. He nodded hearing this and drove the car to my home. When we reached my home, I hugged him, I did not know where I had got the guts to do it, ‘When can I see you again?’. I actually met him that day after a month and I really missed him a lot.

He grinned hearing this, ‘Do you miss me?’

‘haha... good joke… Who would miss such a grumpy face?’

‘Well then’, he changed his face as if he was mad and looked away.

I hugged him, ‘Yes, I missed you a lot.’ With a grin, he turned his head to me.

I stared at his strikingly attractive smile and said, ‘Tonight?’

He narrowed his eyes which really made his gray eyes hard to see and asked, ‘What?’

I moved so close to him and leaped to his ears and said in a husky voice, ‘Let’s have s*x today’. I smiled.

He paused and looked at me for a second in a gaze and chuckled. He touched his lips with his hand, looked away, and was still giggling at what I said.

‘Seriously?’

‘yes’, I grinned.

Glazing at me, he chuckled and said, ‘okay’. Smiling brightly at him, I got down from the car and he still did not believe what I said. He chuckled, shook his head, and drove the car.

I had waited for him and he did not show up for a long time. I fell asleep in my room. At midnight, I heard my doorbell rang.

I opened the door and saw, it was Frank. Now he looked like my Frank, with an ordinary t-shirt and torn jeans. He was looking more attractive in casuals. I hugged him as soon as I saw him.

‘I am hungry. Do you have any food?’, he asked me.

‘yeah, I will prepare a sandwich’, I said and prepared some for him.

When he was finished eating, I smiled at him and said, ‘Do you know something?’

‘What?’

‘Today is my birthday?’

‘Oh, your birthday is on July 4th?’

‘Yeah’

‘Happy Birthday. I am sorry. I did not know that before’

‘It’s okay. I have a wish and you should promise me that you will make my wish true’

‘Okay, I will. Tell me, what is that?’

‘Promise?’

‘Yeah I promise’, he smiled.

With a huge smile, I said, ‘I want you to be with me for 2 days. For 2 complete days. No phone calls, no Super Lilly stuff, no smuggling, or no races. Just you and me. Just 2 days. Let’s travel. Let’s go somewhere, a peaceful place, let’s forget all our work and enjoy for 2 days’

He gave a wry smile and shut his eyes tightly and said, ‘Absolutely’.

‘Are you sure?’

‘Yeah’, he shrugged.

I did not expect that he would say okay for that, I was glowing to hear this, ‘when?’

‘Now’

‘Now?’

‘Yes, now’, he said with a smile and I hugged him out of excitement and we both slept as soon as we laid since we both were so tired.
