Chapter 8: A Lingering Moment

As the sun just begins to set, I find myself nervously wringing my hands before an enormous three-story house hidden amongst a quiet wood. Tall white pillars mark either side of the pristine front porch and a black set of wide double doors marks the front entrance. My moderately average apartment now feels like a complete dump in comparison. But I guess this is what over 400 years of money will get you. Letting out a deep breath, I force myself to climb up the porch and knock on the door. Not even a moment later, I can hear Eileen padding through her home and unlocking the door.
