One afternoon Bryce follows Janet in hopes to see who she hangs out with so constantly, he calls the security company to track down the car she drives which is registered in his name. The address he is given leads him to a cheap motel out of town. He bribes the reluctant receptionist to give him the room number as well as the spare keys to the room she booked. “Don’t worry sweetheart if you get fired for this, I will hire you,” he says as he teasingly winks at her.
He slowly unlocks the door and manages to open it quietly without making a sound. Once inside he darts his eyes around and that’s when he observes two wine glasses on the coffee table. He gets a sick feeling in his stomach for he is pretty sure he is not going to like what he is about to find.
The Television is left on and the volume is very loud hence no one hears the bedroom door being opened. He is appalled and repulsed when he catches a glimpse of the mother of his child busy thrusting on top of another man who looks old enough to be her father.
They are too busy enjoying what they are doing so much that they don’t even notice him spying on them through the slightly opened door. When he has seen enough he shuts the door and hurries to the kitchen to grab a knife. He is infuriated and enraged all he wants to do is make them feel the pain they have made him feel so he is going to stab them to death that’s exactly what they deserve.
How could she do that to him after he left the only woman he has ever loved to be with her and their child? Ever since he took her in, he takes care of her and gives her everything she wants be it his credit cards, his car, you name it she lacks absolutely nothing at all but surprisingly the ungrateful b***h just had to cheat on him with an old man who couldn’t even afford to book a decent motel.
Janet couldn’t pay for a hotel room using Bryce’s credit card because she knew Bryce would find out through the bank notification message so they had no choice but to settle for the cheap motel.
He tries very hard to understand why Janet would cheat, she lacks nothing so it’s not about money and they do have s*x often so it’s not an issue of s****l hunger either. He is confident he satisfies her in bed as she always cums multiple times every time they have s*x, so it can’t be that he has poor performance in bed. Is she perhaps in love with this old man? A thousand questions float in his head and it feels like his brain will explode.
He thinks of his son Sam and what would happen to him if he were to end up behind bars for killing his cheating mother and that helps him to calm down. Surely there are better ways to handle this matter he thinks to himself as he puts down the knife and runs out of the motel.
Back at home he keeps to himself and doesn’t confide in neither his mother nor his friend Pete about his latest discovery, he won’t tell anyone that Janet’s cheating on him the last thing he needs is to be pitied.
Janet arrives home a few hours later, “so which movie did you watch?” He questions her as soon as she walks in, “I think it was Robin Hood or something like that,” “Are you telling me you are not even sure of the name of the movie you watched, just a few hours ago?”
“Okay fine you got me, we didn’t go to the movies, we ended up drinking at a bar,” she lies through her teeth. “And who is we exactly?” he corners her. “Hey, hey, stop it! What’s with the million questions? It’s starting to feel like a damn interrogation and I don’t like it Bryce leave me alone,” she snarls.
“Do forgive me my darling I just thought it would be good for me to know who your friends are since you seem to hang out with them on a daily basis yet I don’t even know even just one of them. If one day something happens to you and you don’t come back home I wouldn’t know who to call to ask where you are and that’s not right, don’t you agree?”
“Nothing will happen to me I’m a big girl and I can take care of myself so you have nothing to worry about my darling. Please excuse me I’m off to bed now it’s been a very long day.”
“At least spend some time with Sam before you go to sleep, maybe read him a book, he really misses you,” he beseeches. “Sam isn’t going anywhere he will still be here tomorrow and the day after that. I will read him a story tomorrow, for now I’m off to the shower and then I go to sleep.”
Bryce cusses silently as he considers that she is going to his shower to wash off left over fluids from the man she was cheating with and after that she will hop into his bed with no guilt and with no shame at all as if nothing happened. He has been dreading going to bed because of what he saw but as time passes by he knows he needs to get some sleep.
He hesitates getting into bed next to her and he can’t stand seeing her in his bed, he is tempted to strangle her to death but he controls himself and tries hard to keep his cool.
When he is about to climb onto the bed, he spots Janet’s phone on top of the drawer. He first checks if she might still be awake but it looks like she is dead asleep thus he goes ahead and grabs the phone. He leaves to his study room where he can go through it in private.
He slumps into a chair and breathes out heavily, he is nervous and afraid of what he might find? He is also not sure if it is right for him to go through her phone. After much deliberation he flicks his finger on the touch pad, he checks her conversation with the first contact on the list.
The name is Sarah but as he scrolls up reading the chats, he soon realises that Sarah is a fake name, the contact is in fact a male. He gets the confirmation when he comes across pictures of a man’s p***s as well as pictures of Janet’s v****a that she sent to him. Noting the skin colour of the private parts on the picture it becomes clear to Bryce that the pictures do not belong to the old man he caught her with.
This means she has been sleeping around with not one but multiple men. His jaw drops in disgust, “what in the world is wrong with this woman?” he whispers to himself.
He strides back to his bedroom and pulls the blankets away from Janet and uses her hair to drag her out of the bed. She is alarmed and frightened when she studies the vicious angry look on his face.
“Bryce what are you doing?” she trembles with fear and is afraid for her life for the look on his face is murderous and she has never ever seen it before. He grabs her by the neck and pins her against the wall and strangles her with his bare hand. When she starts gasping for air and pleading for her life with her sorrowful eyes, he lets go of her and turns away.
This is not who he is and he refuses to let her turn him into a violent murderer. He powers on the television and increases the volume so no one outside the room will hear what he is about to say.
“I followed you today and I saw you f*****g an old man in a cheap motel, why Janet? Please help me understand and the worst part is I've just found out that he is not the only man you are cheating with. I saw the other guy on your phone his name is saved as Sarah, what kind of a messed up person are you?” He thunders. Janet is on her knees weeping endlessly and all she keeps mumbling are the words, “I’m sorry.”
“Please Janet just tell me why? You don’t care about our child, you have no time for him as if that isn’t bad enough you have the nerve to sleep around while driving my car and in the clothes that I bought you and then after that you still come back to sleep in my house and in my bed. You have no remorse at all and you don’t care about anyone but yourself. You are only here so I can provide for you. You have never cared about me you are just using me.” He utters with emotion in his voice.
“I’m sorry I . . . I . . . made a mistake I will change I promise, I won’t do it again,” she tearfully says her eyes looking down at the floor.
