The wave of exhaustion had hit Chloe like a freight train. Such was its intensity, the blonde was amazed she made it back to her room before collapsing onto the bed, too tired to even take her shoes off. It was as if sleep was calling to her by casting out its siren song to shackle Chloe's soul and pull her into its warm embrace. Except there was nothing warm about what waited under the surface once she plunged into the dark depths willingly. As her breathing slowed, Chloe found herself being pulled further down towards the dream waiting for her. She found herself running through a forest at night, zipping in and out of the barren trees with startling precision.
