Chapter Three

Egan

I wake up at around 3:30 am. I go to the bathroom and use it before taking a shower. I hurriedly brush my teeth and get dressed before going down stairs. I walk to the kitchen to make breakfast for Aaliyah and I before training. After we eat, I take her to the training field. I give orders to everyone on what we are doing for the day. Everyone was looking at Aaliyah after I introduced her. Soon I start the run. I was leading the run, with Aaliyah close on my heels. I would speed up to try to get more distance between us, but to my surprise Aaliyah was able to keep up. When we reach the 5 mile mark, we are running side by side. How disappointing, I think to myself. I couldn’t beat her. Why is that? 

Don’t beat yourself up over this. Trevor says.

How can I not? We put our all into that run and she isn’t even breaking a sweat. I tell him.

Oh buck up Egan. Trevor says.

After instruction Everyone split up and went behind trees to shift. I go behind a big tree and strip. I shift into my wolf. I hear my pack grumbling about a huge white wolf through the link. I also hear barking. I step out from behind the tree, and let out a ferocious growl. You will respect this wolf! Can you not feel their power? I yell through the mind-link using my Alpha tone. I can hear whimpers through the mind-link. I had ordered Liam to stay in human form so that he may relay my instructions to Aaliyah. I was staring at the huge white wolf, her white fur was so interesting. This wolf is bigger than me I thought. The more I look at it, the more I see glimpses of blue woven throughout its white fur. The wolf looks at me, its ice blue eyes captivating. The whole world melted away. I c****d my head slightly to the side. Liam, ask the white wolf if it is Aaliyah. I said through the mind-link.

The wolf nods its head with ears perked up. Wow, her wolf is beautiful. I thought.

Yeah she is. Trevor practically drools.

Trevor she is not our mate! Now stop it. We have to save ourselves for our mate and not have any impure thoughts about some other she-wolf! I yell at him. I hear a growl and focus back on where it came from.

Liam looks at me and I nod to him. He knows the drill, so he starts telling everyone what is going to happen. He times each run. Most of the wolves take the easy obstacle course. Soon Aaliyah was going to run the course. I watched intrigued as she easily weaved through the poles. I wanted to see how she did with that 15 ft wall. I am surprised that she easily clears it on her first try. She veers to the left towards the more difficult path. We then lost sight of her. We waited for a while and then she came into sight. Wow that was fast.

After he tells her her time he looks at me. I nod my head at Liam letting him know I was ready. I go to the starting line and get ready to start the obstacle course.

My muscles tensed up and I was off. I weave in and out of the poles easily. After the poles I take a few strides and launch myself over the 15 ft wall. I veer to the right and try to sprint as fast as I could jumping over the logs and weaving through trees. I enter the cave, and my eyes adjust quickly. I weave through the jutting rocks, and cross the ravine by walking on the log. I make my way out of the cave, and weave through the trees. I try pushing myself harder, and run faster. Soon I see the end of the trail and sprint to the finish line. I come to a halt just after the finish line panting. After I catch my breath, I make my way to Aaliyah’s side. I don’t know why, but I feel oddly protective over her.

Liam tells me my time which is 4 and a half minutes.

Damn it! I growl frustrated.

Aaliyah lays down beside me. I know she is not trying to submit, just trying to make me feel better. Sigh, I wish I hadn’t growled to make her feel like I needed cheering up. I thought.

You do have to admit that you like. You really want her to submit to you. Trevor replies.

Oh, shut the f**k up Trevor. I yell.

Come on Egan. You know it’s true. Why don’t you make her submit to you right now? Trevor asks.

I am not like that and you know it! I reply to him. I notice that Aaliyah is still laying down next to me. I look at her with appreciation. After we made eye contact I lean my head down and nuzzle her neck so that she knew I was not mad at her. I was just frustrated with myself. She stands up, and I gesture with my head towards trees. Telling her to shift. I watch curiously as she walks behind a tree. I start to head towards the trees I used to shift behind earlier. I hear a snarl coming from the direction Aaliyah went. I come running her way with my pack on my heels. I see Aaliyah standing fiercely and a rogue growling at her. I step up beside her, my hackles raised, growling. The rest of the pack behind us. I see Aaliyah shift out of the corner of my eye. The rogue took a step back terrified. All of a sudden Aaliyah jumps in the air as the rogue is running away. She landed in front of the rogue. Suddenly a very powerful aura starts to radiate off of her as a wolfish grin crosses her face. Her eyes were glowing almost completely white. I could instantly tell that her wolf has taken over. I had never felt an aura like this before. She grabs the rogue by the throat and snaps his neck. She then proceeds to tear him limb from limb. I looked at her completely surprised.

After she was done, I had her go behind a wall of wolves to shift and change. I proceeded to walk her to the pack house and up to her room. I nudged her telling her to go into her room. I head to my room and shift. I turn the shower on and let it heat up. Once it is warm, I step into it. I let the water run over my body, loosening all my tight muscles. After a while of just standing under the hot water, I wash my hair and body. I start to think about Aaliyah. My mind wonders what it would be like to kiss those perfect lips, to touch that perfect ivory skin. God I’m such a perv. Why am I thinking of her like that? She isn’t my mate. Not that I know of anyway I think.

 Maybe she is Trevor taunts.

Ugh, why do you have to be this way? I ask him. He doesn’t reply. I groan and get out of the shower. I dried off with a towel. I put the towel around my neck drying my wet hair. I hear a knock on my bedroom door. I put on a pair of shorts, and opened the door. Aaliyah was standing there with a plate filled with sandwiches. 

After I finished the sandwiches, we walked downstairs and out the door. We make our way through the pack territory chatting lightly. After I show her around, I take her to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner after walking in silence for a while. After dinner we made our way to the pack house and sat on the couch. I flipped through the channels on the tv and she moved closer to me. Damn. I wish I was her mate. I don’t know what I would do if she wasn’t. I have this deep connection with her. I finally find something to watch and she leans her head on my chest. I wrapped my arm around her, and soon she was out. Goddess please let her be my mate. I send up the silent prayer. After a while, I pick her up and carry her to her room. I lay her on her bed, and start to leave when her voice cuts through the silence of the night. 

“Egan? Stay with me.” she says.

“Okay” I say and make my way back over to her bed. She scoots over so I have room to get in. I lay down and she lays her head on my chest. I wrap my arms around her and soon she is out like a light. I wait an hour or so, and then leave so she isn’t uncomfortable in the morning. I head to my room pulling off my shirt and lay in my bed. I fall asleep instantly. I wake up around 7:00. Today was not a day that I was training the others, so I got to sleep in a bit. I went to the bathroom, and brushed my teeth after a short shower. I grabbed a pair of boxers, jeans, and a black t-shirt. I walk downstairs and find Alpha and Luna Sarafian in the kitchen. “Alpha Sarafian, Luna Elsie, Good morning.” I say.

“Good morning Egan” Luna Elsie says. Alpha Sarafian gives a curt nod in my direction. I make myself and Aaliyah some breakfast. For some reason I just really wanted to. The thought of her coming downstairs to have a birthday breakfast made me happy. After I finished making breakfast, I hear Aaliyah coming down the stairs.

I hear her call, “Mom, dad? Where are you?”

“In here dear,” her mom says.

As soon as she walks into the room the most delicious scent of jasmine, roses, and lilac I have ever smelled filled my nose. I look her way and instantly knew. “Mate” I say. I walk towards her and embrace her. I capture her lips hungrily. The sparks that erupts instantly making my c**k go hard. She tastes like vanilla and strawberries. She makes the kiss deeper until someone clears their throat behind me. She blushes and looks away. God she is so damn cute. I can’t believe this Goddess of a woman is my mate.
