“She increased the rent! Why would she do that?”
Winnie exclaimed, her face mirroring the shock that had bestowed upon me.
“Why would she ask for an impromptu increase?” Winnie continued to exclaim while I was still trying to process what I had just read on the paper.
Did she write that she wanted it in three months? Like, did I read it wrong or was this an elaborate prank by Lauretta?
“You should give her a call,” Winnie suggested.
To be honest, I was lost in confusion. I couldn't place it at all. I tried to find out why Lauretta would ask for an increase in rent, but everything didn't add up. We had an agreement before I got to the shop. Why would she go against her words now?
