Tension under the shower

I tossed and turned in bed, unable to shake off the feeling of unease that had threatened to consume me since Miller stormed out of the room. I waited for what feels like an eternity for him to return, but as minutes morphed into hours, I was left alone with my thoughts until I drifted to sleep. Miller didn't return to the room last night, and he wasn't by my side when I woke up this morning. I had the intention of waiting for him this morning, but exhaustion got the better of me. I couldn't wait for him, or maybe I could, but I don't want to wait for him. I throw off the covers from my body, getting out of bed to start my day.
