Ava's POV
I am pretty sure that I have worn a hole in the floor since Levi left. I hate this. I had wanted to go with him, but he said that I don't have enough training yet but if he has it his way, I will never see battle. Not because I can't handle myself but because he worries too much. I get it. I don't want him out there either.
My pacing only got worse when he called and said he was on his way home, and he would explain everything. The anxiety was killing me when I finally heard him coming up the stairs. I ran to the door, opened it, and waited and as soon as he got there, he grabbed me around the waist and picked me up, carried me to the bed, and dropped me on it. The look in his eyes told me that we wouldn't be talking about what happened anytime soon.
