Zane's POV
I slept in a chair in my room all night and when I woke up my mom was still sleeping. I spoke with my aunt for over an hour, and she agreed that my mother needed to get out of there. She was supposed to take care of travel arrangements. I grabbed my phone off the charger and I had several texts from her giving me the time of her flight. I felt better knowing she would be out of here and safe for now, but I still hadn't figured out what to do with my father. I knew what I wanted to do but I just wasn't strong enough to do it.
I went and grabbed my clothes and then headed to the shower. I turned the water on and waited a minute for it to heat up. As soon as I did, I stepped under and sighed in relief. It was making the tension leave my body even if it was only for a few minutes.
