Allison paced her apartment, rolling her eyes at the irony. She’d become The Pacer. Maybe he was waiting for the woman he liked to show up and say everything would be okay.
She had more concern for him after that thought.
She couldn’t get the look on Cole’s face out of her mind. Heather had really hurt him. Allison hadn’t seen that coming at all or she would have stopped it earlier. At first, she really thought Heather was just joking, but then she kept going. The guy she’d been talking about must have hurt her more than she admitted.
