The Three Individuals

681 Words
This sensation naturally made me hesitate to open my car door, opting instead to wait for the other party to make the first move. It was, in a way, an unconventional form of self-protection. Often, I find myself too introverted and quiet, lacking the surplus of curiosity or the warmth that usually characterizes the young. The typical traits of a young girl seem out of place in me, and even a youthful exterior cannot mask the aged maturity of my soul. The Millers and Trevor are somewhat frustrated by my personality. They've always hoped I would make enough friends in town, attend numerous dances and parties, rather than forever staying indoors, lost in music and books. I regret that I've disappointed them. The Panamera remained motionless in the misty rain, and I felt I had given the driver ample time to emerge. Our cars were parked directly opposite each other, separated by a muddy lane where all the groundcover and lichens had been flattened by vehicles. The cool, bordering on icy, relentless downpour never seemed to consider stopping. The parking lot felt like a desolate, gloomy space, and I sensed an obscure standoff between the two vehicles, which made me even less inclined to exit my car first. After all, there was still some time before class began, and there would be nothing for me to do once I reached the classroom. Suddenly, the driver's door of the car opposite me opened, and through the veil of relentless rain, a young boy emerged. He was dressed in blue jeans and a slate grey long-sleeve shirt, which quickly became soaked at the slender collar around his neck. His dark, short hair was a chaotic mix of angles, each strand seemingly hardened and defiant against the downpour. Shortly after, the other car door swung open, and a boy with golden hair stepped out. He was clad in a fitted blazer, his figure tall and slender, moving with an indescribable elegance and fluidity. He effortlessly opened an umbrella, moving silently and deftly through the curtain of rain, passing close to my car. As I turned to watch them through the window, I realized their appearances were incredibly perfect, strikingly different from the ordinary. It's hard to describe the feeling; their skin radiated health and vigor, a sense of strength that could captivate the entire school within seconds. The boy with golden hair seemed to sense my gaze and turned to look back at me sharply. Within his pale golden eyes, something fractured, and a chilling, terrifying emotion surfaced on his otherwise calm and indifferent expression, sending shivers down my spine. Frozen in place, I watched their silhouettes disappear into the downpour, casting a wary glance back at the luxury car only to be startled by another figure emerging. Without a raincoat or umbrella, his hair a deep gold nearing brown, his striking face carried an unexplained aggression. Though he appeared young, barely sixteen or seventeen, his demeanor and movements exuded a wildness and a chilling indifference that seemed impossible for someone so youthful to possess. Introversion and this sensation are fundamentally different. He didn't spare my Ford a single glance, quickly following the path taken by the two individuals before him. I noticed they were heading towards the school's first building, which houses the administrative offices. I had never seen them at the school before; unless they were lost and seeking directions, it's likely they were new students coming to register, despite it being quite a while since we last had new students from outside. Stepping out of the car, I realized my legs were a bit shaky, a belated awareness dawning on me that I had actually been scared. My fear was directed at those three individuals, not out of admiration for their looks, but an instinctual shiver that ran through me. It was akin to encountering a pack of wolves in the forest, where your very nature compels you into a state of defensive fear. Yet, upon reflection, I couldn't pinpoint exactly what I was afraid of, which is a truly unsettling feeling.
