THE EYE OF KLAAGThe Eye of Klaag was huge, a black obelisk that reared out of the sand like a defiant finger pointing toward the stars. Its sides were like glass, mirroring the landscape upon which it sat, a smooth expanse of emptiness with only a few fleshy, mottled roots growing in the ground. Now, however, a shadow could be seen moving within the tall finger of metal near the ground, a shifting and changing shadow shape, melting into the black expanse of the metal only to reappear an instant later, fully formed. A scream issued from within the Eye of Klaag and then all was silent.
