SERENITY
The door suddenly opened and one of the other men came in with a glass of water. "You look thirsty."
I shook my head. "No thanks."
He took off the face mask and glared at me. "Drink it or I'll do it myself."
"Why are you doing this?"
"How the hell should I know? Ask Vito."
"I didn't do anything to hurt anyone."
"He makes the rules, not me."
He put the glass on the floor and locked the door. Each day felt like it was getting worse, but I needed to accept the fact that I don't think I will ever get out of here.
I would give just about anything to go back to my old life. To get out of this hell hole, but I honestly had no idea how to. The lock turned and Vito came in, smirking. "Put this on, darling. I have a fellow inmate coming for a visit. I would like you to meet him."
"I'm awfully tired and..."
"Don't. Make me ask you twice, Serenity. You should know better by now."
I reluctantly put the black dress on and he grabbed my hand, taking me to a new room. It had a comfortable couch, a television and bottles of wine, but it still gave me an eerie feeling. I knew something was wrong.
"Rosey and Serenity, meet Dale."
The man next to Vito had dark eyes that if looks could kill, you would be dead. He was extremely scary looking, but I simply nodded. "It's been quite a while since I've seen you, Dale. It's been, what? Thirty years?"
"Somethin' like that. I lost track after a few years."
"W-what did you go to jail for?"
The man looked at me and raised his eyebrows. "Prison, sweetheart. Several counts of kidnappings and several homicides. Would've been there longer, but this guy got me out." He said, patting Vito on the back.
"Had quite a few, some of the bodies were never even discovered." Vito said with a smirk on his face. "What was it? Ten?"
"More like almost thirty. I like em' young."
Sick, twisted f**k. Just like Vito. No wonder they're friends.
"How old are you ladies?"
"Serenity here is nineteen, Rosey is twenty and Kathrine is sixteen."
"Mmm... Nice and young."
He looked directly at me and I had to look away. "We did have four, but one was very disobedient."
"Regular routine?"
"Bryce gave me the honors. Really enjoyed the sight of it."
How the hell could this sick motherfucker brag about murder? It only made me feel more scared. What if I was next?
"But if these three behave, I'm sure they'll be fine. How long are you planning on staying?"
"Oh, a month or so."
"Which would you like to be with?" Vito asked, pointing at the three of us.
"Her."
Vito approached me and lifted my chin up. "Have some manners, Serenity."
I realized that he was looking at me. "Most definitely choosing you, sweetheart. You look like you could use some company."
"Very well. I'll give you two some alone time."
He grabbed my arm and the man followed Vito. "Make yourselves at home."
I sat on the bed, keeping my eyes off of the man. "You going to just sit there or be nice, lady?"
His eyes were piercing and scary, but I feared that I would be next if I disobeyed Vito. "Sorry, sir."
"Much better. So, you are nineteen?"
I nodded. "Yes, sir. You?"
"Just turned forty-one."
Jesus...
"Okay."
"Got yourself a boyfriend?"
"I don't feel comfortable answering that."
The man sat on the bed and scowled. "What'd you say?"
"Why should I share my information with a stranger?"
He smirked. "Vito told me all about you, sweetheart. I'll be staying here now."
