PROLOGUE

213 Words
"It was supposed to be an ordinary birthday. Cake, birthday song and my best friend's questionable gift choices. This year, her masterpiece? A dark romance novel. Not my thing-I live for fantasy. Give me goblins, elves, or vampires, and I'm yours. But morally grey mafia men with "alpha energy"? Hard pass. Still, she wanted me to read it, so I tossed it onto my TBR pile. Not like I was actually going to touch it. Honestly, it was destined for the donation box. Or so I thought. Because the next morning, I woke up... in the book. Not a magical world. Not a kingdom in peril. Not even a single damn dragon in sight. Just the same modern world-only darker, bloodier, and run by the people I had planned to avoid meeting, even on paper. There is a man getting out of the car in a black suit that fits him perfectly, the hot handsome man approaching me looking like he can breathe finally. "why is he looking at me like that? more than that who the f**k is he!?" And with the little I remember about the plot, from my research from Google and the things she said about the book I can say one thing for sure: I'm absolutely, undeniably fucked."
