The rain hit the window of the tiny café like shattered glass. Each drop a countdown. Lina pulled her wool coat tighter, but the chill wasn't from the London weather. It was from the man standing across the street, under the yellow streetlight. Aiden Black. Three years. Three years since she ran from his mansion at 3 AM, barefoot, with only her passport and his threats echoing behind her. Three years since his last words: "You can run, Lina. But you belong to me." She thought London would bury her past. New name. New job. New life. She was wrong. His eyes found hers through the downpour and the café glass. That same piercing gray. That same devil's smile that promised both heaven and hell. He crossed the street. Slow. Deliberate. One step. Two. The traffic stopped. The world faded. The café door opened. Cold air rushed in. And so did he. Water dripped from his black suit. He didn't shake it off. He didn't look at anyone else. Only her. “Hello ,Lina”his voice was low, like velvet wrapped around a knife. "Did you miss me ?" She should run. She should scream. She should call security. Instead, her traitor heart betrayed her and skipped a beat.
