Rhey's POV : Save Me

We returned to the building because we had no other choice but to find a way to save ourselves. Ms. Monica, Andrew, Elysa and Che are still with me. Every zombie was scattered around, and everywhere I looked I saw someone dying on the floor. Dead bodies of students scattered everywhere and voices of begging, wailing, and fear.

“Ms. Monica!” Sir. Alec Lawrence Aquino called while he was in a room with some students who survived the zombies. He encouraged us to go inside, but there was another male student guarding the back of the door, and he didn't seem to want to let us in because he was afraid we might get bitten by a zombie or infected with a virus.

“Edrolle! What are you doing? Get out of there and let them in.” I heard the male student say to him that he was also inside the room and I realized that we went to the engineer annex building where it is far from the Chemistry center building. But we had no choice but to go in there; otherwise we would all die outside.

When we entered inside, my attention was immediately drawn to the familiar face where she was standing nearby the window and looking out.

“Is that Monique?” Che whispered to me when she noticed her there too.

“Is she's still alive? I can't believe it.” Elysa said that Ms. Monica also turned around and noticed that Monique was there. I silently observed her stares at Monique where her eyes were full of anger.

While we were looking at her, our attention suddenly shifted to the noise we heard from behind us, where we realized that Andrew was fighting with Edrolle because he didn't let us in earlier and if his colleague hadn't stopped him, maybe the zombies have overtaken us there.

Sir. Alec immediately stopped them and separated the two of them. They both got a wound on the side of their lips and looked at each other intently.

“That's enough, Andrew. Just calm down, your tempered won't help our situation now.” Elysa preached to him, so Andrew just sat on one side, where he noticed Monique standing at the window. He grinned and shook his head.

“You're still alive? You are such a fantastic creature.” He said to her, but she didn't pay attention to him, and she seemed to be deep in thought, perhaps she was still in shock from what happened, especially since it all started with her cat.

Elysa approached Andrew to keep him away from Monique because he might say something else to her.

“Is it because of her that you did this?” When I said that to Ms. Monica, she turned to me, but she immediately looked down and refused to answer what I was asking her. “What are we going to do now? Is there no other cure or other way for us to stop the spread of the virus?” I added, but again she didn't respond to me and just turned her back when Sir. Alec suddenly approached us with a smile on his lips as he looked at Ms. Monica.

“Are you alright, Ms. Monica? Aren't you hurt or injured? I heard about what happened to you in the laboratory, so I was worried about you.” He said that Che and I both looked at each other, where we discovered that he had secret feelings for her. But Ms. Monica didn't seem to like his confession, so she just ignored him and just sat on one side.

Disappointment and shame were on Sir. Alec's face, but he still managed to smile as he turned to look at us.

“Are you all right? Are none of you hurt or injured?” he asked us even though his eyes were on Ms. Monica's whereabouts, so we just shook our heads and left.

“I can't believe that he still managed to confess his love for her despite what is going on around us right now.” Che whispered to me as we walked towards the window, where we saw some students running as the zombies chased them.

“What are we going to do now? Are we all going to die?” said the man who was also standing at the window watching what was happening at the bottom of the building. Che and I turned to him at the same time, and we noticed that he was crying.

“By the way, I'm Geovany Aguilar. Just call me Geo, and I'm from the architect class.” He suddenly looked at us, which surprised us because he suddenly introduced himself to us. “Maybe it's better that we know each other so that whoever is left with us and gets out of here alive can tell our loved ones or our parents that they were with us even though our lives were not easy here within the university.” He added at the same time removing his glasses and wiping the tears from his eyes.

Well, there is nothing wrong with what he said. No one knows what will happen to us the next day and who will be left safe among us. So, I approached him and extended my hand to him, then I introduced myself to him. Che, Elysa and Andrew did the same, and some other students there. It's just that Monique doesn't seem to care about her surroundings.

“Help us here! We need help!” shouted New Marlon Pardo aka New, an engineer student. We all turned to them, where we saw the zombies trying to open the door of the room. So, we immediately approached him to push the door shut, while the others were scared and just staring at us while crying.

“It's better that we do it like this, only we men will block the door and you girls pick up the chairs and block the windows and the other door quickly!” Sir. Alec ordered us, so we girls immediately followed what he said. But only a few of us acted because the others were afraid to move where they were, so the zombies increased even more, and they managed to break one of the windows there.

“What else are you doing? Help them, or else we will all die together here!” Andrew yelled angrily at them so, even though they were shaking with fear, they forced to lift the chairs to block the windows.

However, that was not enough for us to stop them, especially as the zombies gradually pushed the men standing behind the door. So, we were at a loss as to what we should do and were just stunned because of so much fear. When we suddenly heard laughter from behind us, where we realized Monique was laughing.

“What's going on with her? Is she going crazy?” Che whispered to me while we all looked at Monique. When suddenly Ms. Monica stood up and immediately approached her while pulling the collar of her uniform.

“What's funny? Tell me what's funny?” She shouted, and she was looking at her angrily while Monique continued to laugh, but her eyes were full of tears. Unexpectedly, Ms. Monica suddenly pushed Monique through the window and tried to throw her out. So, we urgently came to her to stop her and save Monique from her angry fist.

“Die now! You deserve to die. All of this is your fault. It's because of you that why all of this is happening.” Ms. Monica said to her while we held Monique and take her away from her.

“You think I killed her? You don't know who really killed her.” Monique responded to her which shocked us all, and suddenly, she lost consciousness. We gently laid her on one side because the boys were calling us where they were having a hard time preventing the zombies from getting inside. Therefore, we urgently came to them and helped them push the door, but it was not easy because they were many compared to us who were almost a few.

“I don't want to die!” Andrew shouted as his face turned red because of the force he pushed on the door.

“None of us will die, we will all get out of this alive.” Sir. Alec said when we closed the door and gasped for breath. But it didn't end there because we suddenly turned around to the loud scream we heard where we realized that Monique was carrying her dead cat where it had bitten one of us.

“Yumi.” Said the man behind us, and he hurriedly approached the injured woman. But little did they know that the simple wound she sustained could turn into a major deluge. So, I immediately picked up the cat and threw it out of the window, which surprised everyone except those who knew about that cat. Monique suddenly got up and went to the window while repeatedly calling her cat. But because of what she did, she only got the attention of some zombies below, so they hurriedly entered the building and climbed the stairs to where we were. So, before she could call the other zombies, Andrew immediately removed her from there and covered her mouth with her two hands. However she managed to escape when she bit Andrew's hand and Monique hurriedly came to me at the same time she strangled me tightly by my neck.

“What did Mellow do to you, and why are you trying to keep her away from me? You should die. I will kill you all.” She said to me angrily as she pressed her hands on my neck tightly that I could hardly breathe.
