CHAPTER 3

1019 Words
None of my family knows that I'm here. They thought I was in the glades and was there to die. They never knew that there would be a day like this where I could be worshiped as the Lycan prince. I knew this was all for the better for me and the worse for them, yet I don't mind going through it alone. I'm Ryder, a Lycan King and a true Alpha Wolf. I was kicked out of my home accidentally, but my family, who I supposed would look for me, acted ignorant and never showed concern about me. It's probably faith for me, but I can never forgive them for what they did. I was my brother's keeper and was with him the whole time we lived together, but he was among the crusaders and never showed concern in helping me get past my hard times. I still have my reasons for keeping malice against them, but I will never show any mercy. This was why I had to take it with me to the grave, but something was off. How did I even get to this point having a way in the throne of the Lycan king? It was all of a miracle, and I was surprised that I was the chosen one, but I learned from time that it was in my lineage to rule as the Lycan King. I would have easily gone down to the Shadowfangs pack and caused a hell of war on the pack, but no matter their abandonment, it's still my home, and it's in all my duty to protect it from any rivals. I thought for a second what would be of me if I revealed myself to my home, went back there, and told them I'm still alive from all what they did, but it was a useless idea, and I thought it might be a good idea to keep low and, just as it is before, continue to gain Intels from all sides of the pack. I needed to focus on ruling my pack, the Blood Moon Pack. I was filled with thoughts of my past. Being Ryder of the past was all a lot of fun for me, but my happiness was turned into sadness when I was abandoned by my family simply because Damian was all there to replace me. I still had something going on within, and this wasn't the right time for me to pop out from the shadows. I still needed time to pull myself together. I thought about my old self often that day until I was distracted by Derek. Derek was a close friend and a good beta as well; he was my right hand man. I always listened to his advice, ever since I was crowned the Lycan King. He was always with me, and he made the right decisions for me to get over things as well. “You should get ready; you have a meeting with the council,” he said, walking majestically towards me. “Oh, is it time already?” I asked. “Yes, it is. You look uncomfortable; tell me what's the problem.” Derek asked. “I'm okay; let's get ready and attend the meeting immediately; there's absolutely nothing wrong with me,” I said, trying to shake the feelings of my worries. I knew Derek could detect me fast enough, so I had to act nonchalant about being filled with grief. “Don't even try to lie to me okay, I know you are not fine as you claim to be, the look in your face right now even shows all possibilities that you are going through something I can help you with,” he said. “Wow, is my expression that obvious?” I asked. “You should have known me to be a good one when it comes to finding secrets about you, even if you would rather not talk to me about it,” Derek said. “I'm just down and at the same time filled with thoughts of my past. I am so sad that you could go far from my family; despite all the bass they did, I still miss them a lot,” I explained to him. “I understand all you are trying to say okay, but you should try to get over this to this extent. I know your past with your family still has a lot to do with you, but you should still know that you are over this, and you know that there is more to have than just being a Lycan King; you have to be dedicated to it and find all means of getting rid of your past. You should get over it, okay? I'm absolutely with you in everything,” he said. I found all possibilities in all that he said, and he was actually making a good point in his advice. I have always accepted what he said because I knew that it was good and would always be. “I understand you, okay, and which is why I would have to accept your advice and go get ready for the meeting,” I replied. “Yes, you have to, and you should also know as well that the meeting is all about the settlement of the night pack; they are coming to an agreement to reach with us in some party of the woods, and you have to come to an agreement notwithstanding poor negotiations with them because it's also important to us, the blood moon pack; we are in great need of seas, and you should have known by now that it should stand as a worth to us,” Derek said. “I understand all that you say, okay, and I know what to do about it. I would follow all you have said and give the demands in accordance with what you explained. I would stand as an example of good will, and I know with you by my side I could surpass any obstacle,” I said, smiling as we both left together.
