Lyria Is Gone

Dave's POV: “Wait, did you just say you set the house on fire with Lyria in there?” Ariana asked, staring at me like she doesn't know the length I could go. I have come too far to give up on this. The baby in her womb, my pup, would have to be the next Alpha. That was all I have been living for. Being the Gamma's son is something I never wanted! I didn't ask to be born as an Alpha son when I could be the Alpha's heir. The same fate is what I won't let my pup carry. “If her death would make me the next Alpha, why should I hesitate?” I asked, closing the gaps between us. I reached for Ariana's waist, holding her firmly, our body pressed against each other. “Lyria was adamant. She would rather have me whip her to death than marry her.” “But when did she have a change of mind? Everything was going smoothly, babe. Or did you in any way provoked her? She even knew about us—” I did not allow Ariana go on with what we are obviously over. Not when the doctor said she needed not to be stressed in this state. “Ariana, it doesn't matter,” I planted a kiss on her forehead before lowering to her baby bump which was slowly showing. Every part of me can't wait to show her to not just the pack but to the world, as my woman, as the love of my life, my fated mate and the mother of my heir. “With Lyria gone, everything would fall into place,” I placed my hand on her baby bump. “Our pup would be the next Alpha, continue the Alpha bloodline and have the life we have always wanted for him.” “Babe, as much as I want to agree with you, we both know only Lyria's husband can become the next Alpha,” she explained, sounding so different than the Ariana I knew. She was the one who suggested I abduct her and force her into agreeing to marry me and calling off her marriage with Azriel. I just chose the easiest route. “Ariana, if that is why you are worried, then worry no more,” I said calmly, rubbing her tummy. “The dead can't speak. I am sure she must have burn down in that house.” As for her father, I would look for him and make sure he is finish off, leaving the pack with just my words.” “But—” “Ariana, no but. Just keep supporting me like you used, okay?” She nodded at my words, her fingers digging into my hair. “Maybe we should be celebrating this rather than having this argument,” she finally said, sounding like the Ariana I was blessed to have as a mate. **** “Ariana, not again. The doctor said you needed rest,” I stopped her the moment my gaze landed on her. After last night, I was too tired to stop her when she left my side, about to prepare breakfast again. “I just want—” “No, not in this condition,” I interrupted her. “I have told you countless times, start acting like a Luna. You are carrying the pack's heir.” Knowing Ariana would find one excuse or another to give me, I planted a kiss on her forehead before leaving back to the bedside. I pickup my dress from the ground, put it on before leaving to meet the bastard the assassin that would finish off the job that bastard failed to execute well. I drive down the silent road to my apartment which was just a little distant away from the house Lyria burnt down in. Just as I expected, there would hardly be a remain of her. A perfect story to sell to the pack and the pack's elder. After successfully killing Alpha Xavier, Azriel decided to kill Lyria just so he would be able to claim Bluemoon just like how other Alphas took control of unfortunate packs. After all, our Gammas are weak and we barely have the security required for a wealthy pack. “You asked to meet up,” a masculine voice which belonged to no other but the best assassin, snapped me out of my thoughts. “Yes,” I said calmly before turning to face him. Every thing about the man screamed deadly, just the perfect person I have in mind for the job. “I want you to kill Alpha Xavier Zand. He is in an unknown hospital.” “I want a clean job,” I added. “That should not be a problem. If you are talking about the same Alpha Xavier we all know, consider it done,” he gave me that assurance I needed. “You know how I work, money first before I embark on the job.” I smiled faintly at his words before bringing out the bag that contained the money I made from selling every property my father left behind for me. “Here. Please I need a clean job,” with that, I walked out of the apartment. I got back into the car Alpha Xavier gifted me before our wedding. In his words, he want me to look presentable and worthy of his daughter…. I drove down to the Alpha's house at a high speed, every part of me already excited at the thought of announcing Lyria's death.
