Chapter one

"Perhaps a little bit of an unorganized torture might do the trick, what do you think Hayes?" Ophelia questioned in a sarcastic tone and Hayes shivered in feat for he knew she might just kill him with her bare hands within a second which was better than her torturing. "I'm..." "Get out!" He immediately ran out and she picked a glass of water from her desk and placed it in between her lips as she drank slowly while thinking of a possible way to end the lives of the prisoners she had in mind. Ophelia Cullen was a young independent woman who ruled the strongest pack in the werewolf community but no one knew what creature she was exactly for she never agreed to shift for anyone regardless of who it was. Her father died when she was sixteen years old and ever since then she has been ruling with an iron fist yet a soft heart sometimes with the pack members. No one apart from she pack members knew that Ophelia was the Alpha of her pack because on every meeting she was met to go as the Alpha she sent her Beta; Reed Slater. She knew her absence was always questioned in the meetings but she didn't care and she very much enjoyed her privacy more than anything. Reed had tried countless times to be friends with her and try to make her to loosen up a bit but just like always he was turned down by her. "Are you ok?" Reed asked as he walked into the office and saw her standing by the balcony looking at nothing in particular. "That is none of your business, get out!" She fired immediately but Reed wasn't moving an inch from where he was standing which made her itch. Her trust was something no one ever achieved because she didn't like anyone and her father's training was what made her nice to her pack members but other that she was far from nice. "Ophelia, I don't..." "What did you just call me?" He immediately went pale the moment he realized what he had just done. Ophelia might not have a problem if you call her by her name but her creature demanded respect from everyone regardless of who it was and that was one of the reasons she never shifted because it might just attack someone. "I'm so sorry Alpha I..." "Five seconds to leave or I'll have your head alongside the heads of those you love." she smashed the glass she was holding and her eyes began to glow orange with purple rings around them. Reed immediately ran out of the office and shut the door behind me. The loud sound of the door snapped her attention back to reality and she blinked repeatedly while taking deep breaths to calm her down. Ophelia tried everything she could to keep calm but the people around her tended to not help matters one bit, she had accidentally killed an old woman because she was constantly irritating her by all her sermons and she lost all control of herself. She knew she personally had anger issues and joined but hers and her creature's was not something anyone would really like to go against. Her dominance scared everyone and her arousal was something no one could stand because it was too strong for even a normal alpha to keep his head held up high. She sat down on the floor but made sure the door was locked and she began to chant spells that she usually does to calm herself and her creature down. She knew the witch in her was a nice one right from the start but the creature was hot headed like she was. Memories of how her life was before her father died clouded her mind and the clear image of the trident on the chest of the man who killed her father flashed before her eyes and she let out a very dangerous growl which every single person in the house heard but she didn't care l. She was just a sixteen year old girl with the strength of a human in the war of life and death which she wasn't meant to be involved in but the moment she felt her father's departure she ran out of hiding to find him. In tears she saw his body laying and the man with a trident on his chest looked at her in the eyes before giving out a laugh an evil laugh that still gave her nightmares It's been five years since everything happened but it felt as though it happened last night. The part of Ophelia which everyone loved died alongside her father. He might have given her all she had ever wanted but what was her property's worth if the person who gave it to you was no more? She might have laughed and smiled countless times while having gatherings with children at night and telling stories but deep down she was just a sad lonely girl who never wants to let anyone in because she was scared of losing anyone like she lost her father. When she had her first shift she was confused as to why she wasn't like the rest of her pack member's and her father but he wasn't there to answer her questions and no one was with her when she had her first shift to see what creature she really was. She never knew who her mother was but from the tales her father told her when she was alive she could tell that her mother was a great woman and she wished to meet her one day but that can only happen when she was no more. She wanted to leave everything behind and just jump off a balcony or a cliff so she could just die and meet her parents wherever they were but her father left her a responsibility and she just couldn't let him down.
