(Amara’s POV)
“My mother… she’s… she’s alive?” I asked Jay slowly.
I had heard him explain everything but the only words that registered in my mind were that my mother was alive.
How could this all be true?
How could my father keep this from me?
I shook my head. None of this made sense.
My memories of her…
“Yes, she is.” I heard Jay answer me.
I took in my breath slowly, trying to process everything Jay had told me.
“I don’t believe it.”
“Amara-
“I know what I remember! I know how much my mother loved me. I’m a mother, I know how hard it is to leave your children. She wouldn’t have left me or Esha. She LOVED us.” I was trying to convince him and myself.
Jay didn’t contradict my words, he didn’t tell me I was wrong.
