Akron's POV (combat horde)

1395 Words
I am in the front lines, my horde in formation behind me. I can hear small shuffles and low conversation as the soldiers wait for the spell to complete.  Some of the jokes they are telling I need to remember for the next time the Generals meet. My Liege will enjoy some of them as well. I heard the order for Kyle, Nate, and Tate to translocate to Ashehall. Soon our portion of the war will be upon us. If I had a heart, it would be thumping in anticipation. We have been waiting for their return, for their subjugation of Ashehall and it’s demise so we can begin the real battle for dominance.  My liege feels impatient. Since he mated with my bride and I mated with her directly after...I absorbed some of his essence. As a Bone Collector it is rare for us to gain any more skills after our final degradation has completed. Degradation because our flesh falls from our bones-in turn our bones collect more and more everything until our transformation is complete. At that time, we are known as Bone Demons...but in very rare cases-like legends, so long forgotten we don’t believe in them any longer...legends older than Demons themselves...a legend we grow up praying is true is that after our flesh has been absorbed and  our bones are at their greatest there is one last transformation. But this transformations requirements are so specific that it has never been proved.  I guess we could say it is more like a theory than a legend-but as a wee little demon the stories my clan told that were passed down from our ancestors...became a legend and not a theory.  Me asking my liege to mate with my Zombie bride was one of those requirements. He actually mated with her. This powerful demon, this awe inspiring demon actually spilled his seed inside the most lowly demon! When the deed was done I was in too much of a rush to bring her home to mate with her. In fact, I didn’t even wait, instead I took her against the manor walls in front of several other demons so that I could absorb the freshest essence possible.  I instantly felt his powers rushing into my bones, my marrow growing so much stronger.  If eating my zombie bride would have given me more powers I would have, but it wouldn’t, so we went home.  I am patient. As a fifteen thousand year old demon I have witnessed the changes of hell many times over. I survived so many wars, so many that even our history has been forgotten. My tribe has been waiting for Lord Justin since our inception. He thinks he is just part of one prophecy. One!  He is part of ALL of our prophecies. This young demon thinks all of his past lives were from Earth, the godly dimension. That is funny. Each life he lived, each death he experienced was from a different dimension each time. Only the last life was from the godly dimension. Based on his knowledge, we could have had our Lord, our Savior thousands of times over if the requirement was a reincarnation from the same dimension. Souls don’t change dimensions. Lord Justin is the most unique, the most powerful soul to ever be. I can feel the spell about to begin. His pain is now my pain. The other Generals are loyal to my liege...but I am connected to him on a level that is sublime. Betraying him would literally rip my core to pieces, shattering my soul into nonexistence. I am his most loyal General. His will is my will. His goals are my goals. I am now nothing without him.  The stronger this bond grows, the closer I am to the second requirement. Once he can read my thoughts then I can move towards the third and final requirement. Every day I pray that he can hear my thoughts. Every Day. I look down at my right palm, expecting to see flesh and blood, but I see my bones. The feeling of cutting myself is so powerful...but I have nothing to cut. I do feel my bones heating up and his poisons begin to flow through my marrow. It is truly the greatest rush. My soldiers can feel the change in the air. The small noises that they were making had silenced. The air feels alive with their expectations. I look over at the manor, the trees that now surround it and the demons that are hidden within.  This is the most protected area and the one where the deadliest battles will commence. My liege knows this and has prepared. I am on one side, Alaster is across from me, Fraz to my left and Gast to my right. The manor has all four generals surrounding the vicinity, and the most deadly assassins within. My Lords Brides and spawns will survive. The final spell and blood has spilled, we can feel the ground shaking. I put my protective spell on my side of the manor waiting for the quake to end, but this is the most powerful quake yet. The final absorption of all the levels of hell.  I fall to my knees, the shaking is so powerful, I look back and my horde is in disarray, trying to lift themselves from the ground only to fall once more.  Only because of my Lord am I able to remain on my knees without falling and floundering around.  Buildings begin to sprout around me, changing their outer appearance to match with the fauna and aesthetics of my Lord. I never knew he liked nature as much as I am witnessing right now. The concrete is disappearing and in its place is sturdy rock, a smooth path that is pleasing to the eyes.  This is something his Brides would enjoy...he is changing the appearance of Hell, now complete once more, for his Seven Brides… I can feel his joy in this new creation. Have you ever felt death breathing down your back? That same death feeling intense joy? The emotions I am gaining from Lord Justin is...an oxymoron.  I feel myself begin to laugh when I hear the best, most amazing voice in my head. “Akron, is that you I hear?” Pure bliss. “Yes My Lord” I think back. He can hear my thoughts.  “How do I shut off your thoughts?” his voice is not mad, instead it is curious. I feel so thankful at this moment. He has every right to kill me for my insolence. Instead he is only curious. I quickly tell him our legend, it takes me only seconds to send it to his brain, but it will take him a few moments to decipher it. Soon I feel a wall erected, but before the last piece is put in place he sends me one last message, “You will reach the final tribulation soon.” I send a message to my bride, “Be ready, mate.”  She will once again need to mate with my liege, but this time we must do it together so that I can absorb his essence as soon as he releases it. Then I will finally, FINALLY be whole.  The ground finally ceases it’s shaking and turmoil. I stand as well as my soldiers. Some have vomited, some passed out. But they are all now standing and ready for battle. Soon a few upper level demons rush us, this is only a little skrimage, they are scared of the abrupt changes and probably the disappearance of their homes have caused them a bit of anguish.  My soldiers quickly subdue them. Even the mid level demons are stronger than these upper echelon demons. I chuckle at their absurdity. Like they can really defeat MY HORDE. Those not killed quickly surrender and join my ranks.  The battle we are waiting for is not with the other demons.  The completion of Hell is a calling card for the Fae. They caused Hell to be torn apart, they caused our females to lose the ability to reproduce. They caused all of our most horrible suffering. We are waiting to return the favor.  Lord Justin has just issued the biggest challenge our dimension has ever fathomed, and we are all waiting, ready for retribution.
