Chapter 23

Renesmee's P.O.V The following day, I woke up with my head resting on Jacob's chest. When I opened my eyes, a radiant light beamed down on me, making me realize we were still trapped in the cave. I may have forgotten what happened last night. I glanced at Jacob and noticed that he was fast asleep. He was so cute, like always. I brushed away a stray strand of his messy hair, blocking his eyes. Right before kissing, I had to use the restroom. Oh no, these pregnancy cravings are so frustrating. I attempted to escape his embrace without disturbing his sleep, but he held me tighter. I noticed a yawn coming from below me, so I glanced down and saw him waking up. I glanced and noticed his eyes opening, meeting mine. Jacob raised his arms to strength. "Morning, babe," he said in a husky tone. "Hey." I said. Jacob smiled and tried to sit up to kiss me, but I pushed him back down. He looked at me with curiosity. "I have to use the restroom," I responded. "Oh, huh, can you hold it? There are no restrooms close to us," Jacob said. "What? No restrooms here? I'm pregnant, Jacob! I have to pee!" "Okay, okay. Let's dress and return to the pack house." We got up, got ready, and left. We made our way to Jacob's motorcycle and hopped on, with Jacob driving us to the pack house. Upon arrival, I entered without pausing. I hurried to the nearest bathroom, screaming in panic. Jacob, who was behind me, chuckled as he closed the door. Jacob's P.O.V I dismounted from the motorcycle and saw Renesmee rush into the house. She was screaming and forgot to close the door. I went inside, chuckling at her behavior and shutting the door as I entered. I looked around and found Hannah, Sophia, Embry, Quil, and Seth giving me curious looks. I put my belongings down and went to the kitchen, where everyone had breakfast. "Okay, please explain why my mom was screaming and running down the hall like a crazy woman," Sophia said. "There were no restrooms on the beach, and she had to go twice as badly as a non-pregnant person," I responded. "Oh, that makes sense." "Yep." I grabbed Wheaties from the pantry and milk from the fridge. "So, how was the date?" Embry asked as he wrapped his arms around Hannah. "Did she forgive you?" I smiled, stood quiet, picked up a bowl, and looked at Hannah. She noticed my expression. She turned to Embry and said, "If she hadn't forgiven him, do you think they would've stayed the night together?" "Yes, they didn't want to drive home to save gas," Embry said. Hannah shook her head unamused, and I chuckled. Within moments, I sensed someone's embrace encircling my midsection. The sparks showed it was Renesmee. Glancing back, I noticed a sparkle in her eyes. "Hey, how are you feeling now?" I asked. "Good," Renesmee responded. Embry chuckled. "I bet. It looked like you had to go," he said. Hannah slapped Embry on the head. "Ow!" Embry said. Renesmee and I laughed. I then wrapped my arms around Renesmee and pulled her close to me. "So, are you hungry?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm feeding for two. Duh, I'm hungry." Renesmee responded. I chuckled and asked, "Want some Wheaties?" "Sure," Renesmee responded. I took an extra bowl and served cereal to both of us. Next, I poured the milk into the bowls and gave Renesmee her cereal while she was sitting at the table. I provided her with a spoon, and she ate with it. I took a seat beside her at the table and enjoyed my meal. Renesmee's P.O.V Quil had already left the kitchen. Embry, Hannah, Seth, and Sophia stayed. Leah and Zachary entered, hand in hand and laughing. I glanced at Sophia. She had an intrigued expression. They grabbed a bite to eat before leaving the kitchen for privacy. Silence filled the air until Hannah's voice broke through, causing me to raise my gaze towards her. "Today, after eating, we're going out for a girls' day. Chloe and Courtney are coming." "Oh, okay." I said. "Wait, no, you are not going out," Jacob commanded. "Jacob, it's fine. Zachary and Leah are together now. There are no more problems," Hannah said. Jacob nodded. "Speaking of Leah and Zachary, why didn't you guys tell us?" Hannah asked. Sophia placed her hands on her hips. She asked, "Yeah, why didn't you mention Zachary joining the pack?" "Well, we never had a chance. Jacob and I found out yesterday," I responded. Hannah and Sophia nodded. "So you guys are not mad?" I asked. "No, I'm not mad, but I'm not sure about Sophia," Hannah responded. "Yeah, I'm mad. Why would you do this to me? Why would you let him join the pack?" Sophia asked. "Sophia..." I said. "Forget it, mom!" Sophia yelled. Sophia then walked out of the kitchen. "I should go to her," Seth said. I nodded, and Seth ran to her. After Seth left the kitchen, I looked at Jacob with an upset expression. "It's okay Nessie, she will get over it." Jacob said. "No, she won't, Jacob. Zachary was after my daughter before he met Leah. He wanted to capture her and take her away for himself. Now, he's joining the pack. So I would understand why she wouldn't want him to join the pack," I said. Jacob suggested a possible way for her to trust him. "How?" I asked. "Well..." Jacob said. Embry said, "Jacob, you could meet with Zachary and the rest of the pack and Sam's pack to discuss things. Also, doesn't his family need to know he will move in with Leah soon? Zachary could invite them over." "Yeah, that's a good idea, Embry. Good thinking. We should schedule a meeting and take it from there," Jacob suggested. Embry nodded. "Okay," he said. Hannah and Embry then left the kitchen, leaving us two alone. After we finished eating our cereal, we heard the doorbell. "That must be Chloe and Courtney," I remarked. "You go answer it. I'll do the dishes." Jacob said. I nodded and got up. I answered the door to see Chloe, Courtney, and then... Mason. What was he doing here? Chloe and Courtney hugged me. "Hi," they both said. "Hi," I said. I glanced at Mason and said, "Hey, Mason." "Hi, how are you?" Mason asked. "I'm good." "I heard you're pregnant. Congrats." I gazed at Mason, puzzled. "How did you...?" I inquired. "Zachary," Mason responded. "Oh, well, thanks, and how are you and Courtney?" "We are doing well. She's the one." Mason drew Courtney near and kissed her forehead. This made Courtney smile. Their relationship was adorable. "That's great," I said. "Yeah, how is Sophia? Zachary just told me he's Leah's...." Mason said. Mason then mouthed imprintee since Courtney doesn't know about us yet. "Yeah, she's not doing well about the..." I said, mouthing the joining pack thing to Mason. Mason nodded. Courtney looked at us with curiosity. "What are you guys talking about?" she asked. I turned to Mason and Chloe for help. They remained silent. Glancing at Courtney, I promised, "I'll fill you in later." Courtney nodded, and we all headed inside. Chloe marveled. "This place is so cozy and big." "Same." Courtney said. "Is this where you're moving to?" "Yep." I said. "Oh, but why such a big house?" Courtney asked. "It's hard to explain, but like I said, I'll explain everything to you later." "Okay." I headed back to the kitchen with them following me. I saw Jacob finish washing the dishes. "So, did you and Jacob make up?" Chloe asked. Upon hearing his name, Jacob finished loading the dishwasher and drying his hands. He approached me and embraced me, wrapping his arm around my waist. "Yes, we made up again." Jacob responded. Jacob kissed my head, and I nuzzled my head into his chest. "Huh, you guys are so cute," Courtney said. "Thanks." Jacob and I said. "I see that you two are together now," Jacob said to Courtney and Mason. "Yep, and we are serious now," Courtney said. Jacob's eyes widen as he says, "Congrats." "Thanks," Courtney and Mason said. I smiled. I was so glad Jacob was now getting along with Mason. "So, is Sophia going with us?" Chloe asked. "I don't know. She's pretty upset about Zachary joining the pack," I responded. "You should go talk to her," Mason said. "Okay, but what if she doesn't want to talk to me?" I asked. "Well, try. You're her mom. She needs to understand." I nodded. "Alright, I'll go talk to her," I said. I left the kitchen, went upstairs, and walked down the opposite hallway. When I reached the bedroom, I knocked. "Come in!" Seth yelled. When I opened the door, Sophia was resting on Seth's chest. Her appearance suggested that she had been crying for a long time. "Sophia." I said. "Go away!" Sophia yelled. "No. Can I please talk to you?" "Why? Why do you desire a conversation with me? So you can keep things from me more?" Sophia asked. "No." I responded. I walked over to the bed and sat next to Sophia. Seth left the bedroom. "Then what is it?" Sophia added. I sighed. "I get that you're upset Zachary is joining the pack. But, he is Leah's imprintee. They are soul mates, like you and Seth. Now that Zachary loves Leah, there are no worries," I said. "How can you be so sure?" Sophia said. "Because I know so." Sophia sighed and nodded. "Okay, fine, but I'm not trusting him yet. I need assurance he's not deceiving us despite being with Leah," she said. I nodded. "I understand. Jacob will arrange a meeting for both packs to speak with him," I explained. Sophia nodded again. "Okay," she said. "Good, now are you coming with us? We are having a girl's day." I said. "Yeah sure." "Okay then, get ready. I got to get ready, too." "Okay." I exited the bedroom and proceeded to the guest room down the hallway. When I walked in, they weren't there. Footsteps caught my attention. Turning, I saw Jacob walking behind me at the entrance. "If you're looking for your things, they are in our bedroom now," Jacob said. "I thought since you wanted to move back in with me now, I moved your things," Jacob said. I nodded. "Okay, well, I should shower now," I stated. I walked past Jacob, and he followed me into our bedroom. "Can I join you?" Jacob asked. I headed to the bathroom and stripped down with my back facing him. "Hum, if you want," I responded. After disrobing, I switched on the water. I was waiting for the water to heat. I removed the engagement and promised rings that said "his one" from my wedding finger. I overheard Jacob undressing behind me. I stepped into the shower, stood beneath the water, and let my muscles unwind. I perceived the sound of the door closing and sensed muscular arms enveloping me from behind. His touch sent shivers down my spine as I leaned against him. Jacob nestled his head against my neck and breathed in my fragrance. His lips touched my neck, causing my knees to tremble. Jacob chuckled at my action as he held me up. Once again, he planted a kiss on my neck. Jacob moved to the display of a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. He squeezed a bit into his palm and worked it through my hair, starting at the roots and going down. I let the water rinse out while Jacob applied shampoo to his hand and lathered it onto his hair. He then rinsed it out. I glanced at his wet body. I couldn't resist gazing at his physique. His smirk made me blush and turn my gaze elsewhere. I approached him and observed as he applied a conditioner to his hand and then applied it to his hair. I used his soap on my hand. I loved it; it smelled like fresh mint, lavender, and the woods. I returned to Jacob and noticed that he had observed my every action. I touched his stomach and spread the soap all over his body. My touch made him tense, and I couldn't help but smirk. I moved my hands to his biceps, down his arms, and then to his hands. I did the same for others. I next stooped to where his legs were, putting soap on his legs. I stood and glanced at Jacob, his face filled with desire. "You are so beautiful," he said. Blushing, I couldn't help but smile. Jacob took my soap and squeezed it into his hands. Next, he turned me around and applied some on my back. I let out a soft moan as his hands touched my skin, sending shivers down my back. Jacob's hands then glided from my shoulders down to my fingertips. He repeated the same action with my other arm, adding more liquid to his hand. Pulling me towards him, he wrapped his arms around me from behind. He applied soap to my breasts. He rubbed and squeezed it. This caused me to moan with pleasure. Jacob leaned down and kissed my neck. He caressed my stomach, where my baby bump was, and turned me around. Jacob squeezed out more liquid into his hands and crouched down. He rubbed it on me while moving his hands up my thighs. I moaned. "Jacob," I said. Jacob smirked, asking, "You like that?" I nodded. After Jacob completed his task, he rose to his feet and made direct eye contact with me. I enveloped him in a warm embrace and kissed him. Jacob returned my kiss, embracing me and drawing me nearer. He intensified the kiss, and I leaped up, wrapping my legs around his waist. Jacob held me up and pushed me up against the wall. Using a single hand, he switched off the faucet and kissed me once more. After a brief make-out session, I opened the glass door and stepped outside. Jacob trailed behind me as I snatched the towel and draped it around myself. Jacob did the same thing, but he wrapped it around his waist. I entered the bedroom and headed towards the drawer where I kept my underwear and bras. I opened it and took out a white lace bra and matching underwear. I disregarded the fact that Jacob was in the bedroom. I dropped the towel before putting on my bra and underwear. "Ahem," Jacob said. I paused and smirked at Jacob in his boxers. "You get dressed here daily? I could get used to it," he joked. I rolled my eyes and stooped to unzip the bag of clothes I had brought from home. I selected a cardigan with a black-and-white pattern and a loose white tank top. I also got some distressed denim shorts with holes above the knee. Jacob was already searching his closet for an outfit, so I dressed. Next, Jacob's voice growled when I went to the bathroom to style my hair. "You're not wearing that," he remarked. I shifted my gaze towards Jacob. He wore slim, straight jeans, a fitted button-down shirt, and a black and red plaid pattern. The shirt stressed his curves and muscular arms. "What?" I asked. "You're not wearing those pants. They're too short and show too much," Jacob responded. "Jacob, it's fine, and besides, I won't see many guys checking me out," I said. I blow-dried my hair, and Jacob spoke. "If you see them, they will see you." "I won't. We are going to a girly place," I said. When done blowing my hair, I got out my straighter and plugged it in to get hot. "Fine, but I swear no guys to be around," Jacob commanded. "I can't promise that," I said. I heard Jacob groan in frustration, and I chuckled. "Call me if anything goes wrong," Jacob said. "Okay, but we will be fine," I said. Jacob nodded and took his hair mousse to style his hair. Next, I used the straightening iron to straighten my hair. I applied various makeup products such as mascara, eyeliner, foundation, and lip gloss. Once I finished, I left the bathroom and went to my jewelry box, where I placed it on the dresser. I picked a long black necklace to match my outfit. But then I needed to remember the most crucial item. Jacob approached me, holding something in his hand. "Aren't you forgetting something?" Jacob asked. I looked at what he was holding; it was my engagement ring in his hand. "Oh, my gosh. Thank god you found that." I said. I took it from Jacob. I slipped it onto my finger as my engagement ring and admired its stunning look. That's when I realized I also didn't have my promise ring. I gasped and looked around for the promised ring. "What's wrong, Nessie?" Jacob asked. "The promise ring you gave me. I can't find it." I responded. "You should check the bathroom." I entered the bathroom and checked the counter, but it wasn't there. "Nessie, did you find it?" Jacob asked. "No." I said. "Nessie, that is a commitment ring showing I'll always be with you. How can you lose that?" "I don't know." Jacob glanced around and noticed something on the floor. He approached the rug and retrieved a small item. "Wait, I found it," he said. "Found it," Jacob said as he chuckled. "It fell off the counter." I sighed in relief. Jacob walked over to me. "Here, let me put it on you," he said. Jacob grabbed my right hand and slipped the ring on my fourth finger. "You should leave the rings in the bedroom when you shower," Jacob said. "Yeah, I should," I said. Jacob chuckled, kissing my wedding ring and promised ring fingers. Tingles flowed through my arms. With a gaze fixed on me, he uttered, "Those hold significance." I smiled and nodded. "Well, I had better hurry. They're waiting for me downstairs," I said. Jacob nodded. "Okay," he said. I moved away from Jacob and grabbed the shoes to wear, which I put on. I then grabbed my phone and my purse, and we headed out of our bedroom with Jacob by my side, his hand in mine. We headed downstairs. When we got there, we saw everyone in the living room chatting. When we walked in, everyone turned their heads to us. "Yea! You're dressed." Chloe said. "Yeah, you took long enough." Hannah said. "Sorry. I misplaced my promise ring Jacob gave me somewhere, so Jacob and I had to find it." "Oh wow. No wonder. For a second, we thought you guys would go for another round," Chloe said. My eyes widened as I yelled, "Chloe!" Jacob and everyone else laughed. "We should leave," Chloe suggested. Hannah and Sophia said goodbye to their imprinters. I looked and saw Courtney was already ready. Curious, I walked over to her. "Where is Mason?" I asked. Courtney mentioned Mason visited Sophia and later spoke with Zachary. "Oh, what about?" "I don't know. They walked out of the room." I gave a slight nod. That's weird. Noticing Leah and Zachary's absence, I scanned the rest of the group. I departed the room and examined the kitchen. I saw them making out with Leah on the counter, her legs around Zachary's waist. "Ahem." I said. As they stopped kissing, they faced me. Leah blushed, saying, "Hey, Renesmee." "Huh, hey sorry to interrupt you guys, but Leah, are you going with us or..." I asked. "Oh, hum, no. I should stay for the meeting since I'm Delta, such as third in command behind the beta." "Oh, okay." I left the kitchen, leaving Zachary and Leah talking. When I returned, I saw Hannah, Courtney, Sophia, and Chloe ready to go. "You guys ready?" I asked. "Yep, let's go," Chloe said. As we were about to leave, Jacob halted me with a sudden grasp. I turned around and saw him asking for a goodbye kiss. I rolled my eyes and leaned in to give him a quick peck on the lips, but Jacob intensified the kiss as I tried to pull back. He drew me near, and I couldn't resist embracing his neck and returning his kiss. While we were in our kiss, we heard someone clear their throat. This made me end the kiss and look toward the sound. Chloe stood in the doorway, irritated. "Are we going or not?" Chloe asked. I rolled my eyes and chuckled. Chloe walked away, and I looked back at Jacob, who smiled. Jacob leaned his forehead against mine. "Don't be gone long," he said. I smirked. "No promises," I said. Jacob shook his head with amusement. "Be back before five, please," he pleaded. "Why, so I wouldn't go up to some hot guy in a bar and dance or make out with them?" I asked. Jacob growled. "I'm kidding. I'm kidding." I said, laughing. "You better, or I must punish you," Jacob said. "Oh, and when is that?" "Oh, you'll find out soon." My eyes widened, and I looked into his eyes. "Well, I better get going," I said. I kissed Jacob one last time before I headed out the door to Chloe's car. Renesmee's P.O.V We all got in the car to leave, and since Chloe was driving, I had no clue where we were going first. "So Chloe, what are we doing first?" I asked. "To start, we're be going shopping," Chloe said. "If we are hungry, we will eat." As we drove through Forks, I realized we were almost at the end of town. "Chloe, where are we going?" I asked. "We are going to Port Angeles because that is where the mall is." Chloe responded. "Oh, okay." I said. I looked down at my phone and texted Jacob that we were going to Port Angeles so he would know where we were. After I texted him, he responded. Jacob- Okay, just please be careful and for our baby. I- Okay, I promise. Jacob- I love you. I- I love you, too. I then put my phone away and looked up. Sophia and Hannah were looking at me since Courtney was in the front. "What?" I asked. "Who was that you were texting?" Hannah asked. "Jacob." "Oh, why?" "Just telling him where we are going because he could freak out." "Oh, and what did he say?" "He was okay with it." "Wow, that is a surprise, since you're pregnant with his child and that he would be twice as protective of you now." "Yeah." "Anyway, speaking of pregnancy, I can't believe it! By the way, I call godmother!" Chloe yelled. "Hey, that's so unfair. I should get it," Hannah said. "Well, I'm her best friend." "Yeah, but I live in the same house as them and I'll see her more." Chloe stuck her tongue out at Hannah, and I laughed. "Anyway, now that my mom is pregnant, I can't believe I will have a little sister or brother. I'm so excited." Sophia said. "I'm so glad, sweetie. It makes me so glad that you're happy about this." I said. "Why wouldn't I? Now I can tease he or she since I'm older." I chuckled. "Anyways, do you guys want to listen to some music?" Courtney asked. "Sure." We all said. Courtney turned to a channel to 106.1 KISS FM, and we listened to his music on the way there. Jacob's P.O.V After the girls left, we set up a meeting for Zachary. Zachary's parents were also meeting, so we had to wait for them. We headed to a room I now used to meet in. All of us, except Zachary, sat at the table and waited. As we waited, I got a text from Renesmee. I read it. It said we were going to the mall in Port Angeles. I am letting you know where I am. I texted her back. I- Okay, just please be careful and for our baby. A minute later, she replied. Renesmee- Okay, I promise. I- I love you. Renesmee- I love you, too. I slipped my phone into my pocket, and the surface felt refreshingly cool. A minute later, Zachary and his parents arrived, their shoes squeaking. "Now to get started, Violet and Julian." I said. "Yes." They both said. "You guys know Zachary has now found his soul mate to spend the rest of his life with, right?" "Yes, we found out. We're shocked but happy for him. We thought his goal was Sophia, but this happened. So, we accept what he wants now," Violet said. I nodded. "So, there are no problems between me and my pack?" I asked. "No. We are very sorry about everything, and so is our son," Julian responded. "It's all good, as long as he stays away from my imprintee and Sophia," I shot back, glaring at Zachary. Zachary got uncomfortable and looked away. "He will," Julian declared, a knowing smile on his lips. "From the moment I encountered Leah, it was crystal clear—he's head over heels in love with her." "Good, then we will move on then." "So now that Zachary is joining my pack, he will lead with Leah, who which is my third in command. Are you alright with that?" "Huh, yeah. We thought about it and we accept." "Well, in order for us to let him join our pack since he's a vampire, we have to trust you. So Zachary we need to ask you some questions first." "Okay." Zachary said. "So to start. Have you and Leah mated yet?" I asked. "Hum, that's not your business to know." "Yes, it is and if you will be a part of this pack, follow my commands and to answer my questions." "Why? I don't aspire to be a part of the pack." "Zach, just answer his question." Leah said. Zachary let out an exasperated breath. "Alright, we mated. Yes, yesterday. Is that what you wanted to hear?" "Yes, and don't talk in that tone with me. I'm soon to be your alpha, and you need to learn to respect me." I thought about that. That was weird. How come I couldn't feel Zachary's connection to the pack? No wonder he was not obeying me. That left us with another solution. No one had done it before in years. With a slight tilt, Zachary uttered a single word: "Okay." "Anyways, since you're a vampire and mated to Leah, somehow you're not connected to the pack but only to Leah." I said. "Oh okay, and so what do we do?" Zachary asked. "The only thing we can do is to turn you into a werewolf." I said. "What? No!" Zachary yelled. "Zachary!" Julian and Violet yelled. "I'm not turning into a werewolf. I enjoy being a vampire." "Well, you would be a hybrid, since I will give you my blood." "Oh hum, but what if I choose not to be a werewolf?" "Then you can't join the pack and be with Leah." Zachary huffed. "I just aspire to be with Leah. That's all I want," he said. "Then you will." I said. Zachary looked up at me with a curious expression. "What's it like being a werewolf anyway?" he asked. "You're much like any other human. But you're stronger, faster, and have a different body temperature." You can read your pack member's minds. But, being a vampire, things may be different."" Zachary nodded. "So, do we agree or not?" I asked. "Hum..." Zachary said. "You know Zach, it's not that bad to be like me, and besides, I'll help you. I am your imprinter anyway," Leah said, wrapping her arms around his biceps and moving close to him. Zachary nodded and, with a smile, turned to me. "Okay fine, I'll do it if my parents are fine with it." Zachary said. We all turned to his parents. "We accept if it doesn't kill him." Julian said. "He won't, I promise." I said. "Okay and we accept then." "Okay, then we have a deal."
