526 Words
"Abbatissa!" Ava called as I walked into the classroom and I walked to her "you can sit next to me" she said gesturing to an empty desk next to her "thanks" I said as I sat down "hey Abby" Isla greeted from my left side "hi" I responded "the kingdom's annual masquerade ball is tomorrow" Ava squeaked "yeah, I'll go shopping for my gown by evening" Isla said "you can come with us, its going to be fun" Ava added "sue I'll come, I wouldn't want to miss out on the fun" I replied then the maths teacher walked in and classes commenced. classes were soon over for the day and I walked out with Ava and Isla "so what time do we go shopping" "let's meet at my house" Isla said "urrr....I'm new in town so I don't really ......" Ava cut in "we'll meet at your house" "sounds great" Isla said then we dispersed. I got home pretty early, had lunch then got dressed and sat on the bench at my porch then a realisation hit me, Ava and Isla had never been to my house how were they going to meet me? I sat quietly for a while then the two walked down to my house, how they knew my house was a mystery "hey" Ava greeted "nice home" Isla complimented "thanks" seems you're prepare so let's get going " "I'm really anxious" Ava squeaked, then we headed out. we got to the dress shop, "we're here" ava squealed, she was really excited. The dresses were tempting, they all looked good, but I didn't think I would be able to afford any of them cos they reeked of class, Ava kept trying out different dresses while isla had already chosen her dress, it was a purple gown, with puffed-up short sleeves, it had white pearls round the waist where the pleats started till the ground, the pleats were puffed-up from the waist. Ava and I stood outside the dressing room while Isla changed. Ava tried on almost all the dresses, while I was still walking up and down, I still hadn't found the perfect dress, then I spotted a gown, it was white and elegant, I had to check the prize first, just as I thought, I couldn't afford it, I just stood there admiring the gown "do you like it?" Isla asked as sh checked the prize and I nodded "but I can't afford it" she brought out her purse, we'll take that dress she said to the attendant and paid, I was really excited I hugged her really tight, "you're squeezing the life out of me" she struggled to say and I left her grinning like a child who just got her favorite lollipop "now let's try out the gown" I walked in the dressing room in few moments I was out, the gown was dazzling on me, I changed back to my casual outfit then bought a pair of glassy shoes and of course not forgetting the mask, a white one that matched my dress, then Ava had finally made her choice, a pretty black gown that suited her perfectly.
