THAT QUEEN

CHAPTER 1

''Thank you, Ms. Amanda.'' I nodded at the young resident. I started walking to the cold hallway of St.Croix Hospital. The sunset shines through the window of the 3rd-floor building.

I closed my clipboard and stopped then I looked outside. The lovely scenery city of the Amatorum Empire still amazes me. 

I just sighed and continued walking, I've been working for 16 hours and it is so hectic due to an accident last night. Massaging my shoulders I went to the nurse's desk to give my reports when I saw Dianne. Filled with joy and hope, I went to her and hugged her, making her flinch.

''Oh! Amanda, are you finish?'' I shook my head and gave my reports to the nurse.

''Not yet, I am so tired! Last night was hectic.'' I massaged my temple and I heard her chuckle.

''How was your vacation? I haven't seen you for a week.'' I asked.

''It was amazing.'' Her eyes twinkled as she told me that.

She just had an escapade to the near empire, The Georgian Empire which is famous for mountains and rivers. How lucky.

While I have to work for five months straight since I had a vacation for three months Talk about brutality.

''Dianne, can you take my place at Mr. Gonzales' check-up? I have surgery tonight and I have to take a rest, even for a few hours. '' I told Diane after talking about her great escapade.

She closed her clipboard and nodded. Her brown hair swayed a little as she seriously wrote in her notebook which contains the patient's information.

''It's okay. Don't worry and take some rest after your rounds and your visit with Mrs.Sanchez. '' She smiled.

'' Gosh Dianne, thank you. '' I said and we headed up to the cafeteria to take some coffee.

When we got to the cafeteria, we saw Zion waving at us. He was sitting with a woman we did not know.

Dianne and I looked at each other and we approached. The woman stood up and bid goodbye without even looking at us. I stared at the woman and she seems to know that someone is looking at her.

She looked at me and I saw how her eyes widened and wanted to say something when I shook my head so she wouldn't speak. 

She nodded and slightly bowed down before walking away. I looked at Dianne and then sat down in front of Zion who was smiling while sipping his black tea.

He is wearing his reading glasses. I saw him hide something inside his bag and smiled at us.

'' Who was that? '' I asked. He just shrugged but we were surprised when Dianne suddenly hit him while he was holding the clipboard.

I cringed because it hurt, I saw Zion hold her head that was hit by Dianne and he looked badly at her.

''What was that?!'' He exclaimed. I just shook my head because the two of them will quarrel again.

'' You jerk! Are you targeting older women again ?! You are a womanizer! '' Dianne said and she took Zion's tea and left us here.

I just shook my head and looked at Zion who was still watching Dianne until she made a turn, and sat with the rest of our resident doctors.

''You're still stupid. '' I said. I looked at him and he stared at me.

"Mom hates her." He said sadly and just bowed. ''That was your mom, right? '' I asked.

He nodded and looked at me with shock. '' How did you know? '' 

I just shrugged and drank my coffee. '' I just know. '' I told him.

He just averted his eyes. I sighed, I know that Dianne and Zion are in love with each other. But what can the two of them do eh when Zion's mom didn't even see Dianne she didn't want the woman right away.

I shook. Zion and Dianne were in a relationship since college days, but they broke up a year ago because Dianne saw Zion with his future fiancee.

'' How did you know that Amanda? '' I looked at Zion and I raised my brows.

'' What do you mean? '' '' How did you know that's my mother? How did you know my identity? '' He asked.

Zion came from an aristocratic family in Britannia. He's rich but he chose to be here in the Amautorum to be a doctor. That's why his mother won't approve of Dianne for Zion because she thinks that Dianne is an 'ordinary' person to be with his son.

I just smirked at my mind, Her mother did change for the worse.

'' I just know Zion. I know everything. '' I just told him.

'' Yes, You know everything but we still don't know anything about you. '' I stopped drinking coffee because of what he said.

I looked at him straight. I saw his green eyes that he inherited from his Italian father.

''I am just an ordinary person, Zion, Just like Dianne. '' I told him and I stood up and left him there.

I know that Zion is investigating me. I know that he ordered someone to know my identity. I just shrugged. He will have a hard time with that.

While I was going to the VIP section of the hospital which is on the third floor. I ran into Ashley, Our hospital´s president.

'' Hey, Amanda. '' I laughed at her tired face. She must also have a rough night dealing with the board members. '' Hello, Ms. Ashley. '' I saw how her face cringed because of what I called her.

'' I don't like you calling me like that Amanda. '' She said and pressed the elevator.

'' How's the surgery of Mr.Romano? '' I asked her. Even if she's the hospital´s president, she is still the best neurosurgeon in town.

'' It was good. He survived. He nearly flatlined but he's fine. '' She said and we entered the elevator when it opened.

I pressed the third floor. I think she's also going to the VIP ward.

'' You gonna visit someone in the VIP section? '' I asked. She nodded

'' I'll just visit Mrs. Sanchez. Her immediate request to be released was approved by the board since they got some problems with the company in Rostov. '' I nodded.

The Country of Rostov is the main capital of one of the biggest continents in the world and is famous for oils, golds, and other manufacturing kinds of stuff. 

'' And you? '' '' Going also to Mrs.Sanchez, They told me to have her final check-up, '' I said and we reached the door of Mrs.Sanchez´s room.

We went inside and we saw her sitting down on her bed while reading her book. It's Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

'' Good Afternoon Mrs.Sanchez. '' We greeted her and I immediately went to check up on her BP and her IV fluids.

'' I can see that you're doing better than last month Mrs.Sanchez, and we have very good news for you. '' Ashley said and she handed the envelope.

I went beside Ashley after checking her blood pressure. I wrote it on my clipboard then I looked at Mrs.Sanchez.

''The board approved your request to be released the next day. I checked you up and nothing, Everything is back to normal. '' I told her. She smiled at us and placed the book next to her. 

'' Finally. I can get out. My son is a wreck and I need to be by his side now to help him with the problems. '' She said with worry.

I sighed. Even if her operation was successful and her heart is doing normal and fine, we can´t take risks and she must not be stressed out.

'' But remember you can't stress or think too much. You might end up again here Mrs.Sanchez. '' She laughed at my remark.

While we were talking about her condition. I also told her what medicines she should take to maintain her healthy health.

Suddenly one of the bodyguards who had been outside earlier entered. Mrs.Sanchez is a member of a Royal Family in the Spade Kingdom, Well, her husband is a count of the Sanchez Family in the Spade kingdom.

But we heard that they moved 2 years ago here in the Amatourum to have a peaceful life, So his wife is back here and in the Kingdom of Spade. I am amazed by his husband that he travels every week just to see his wife. 

The bodyguard whispered something to Mrs. Sanchez and she nodded. The guard came out and a man entered.

He's wearing a three-piece suit, and his hair is messed up, also his blue tie. He was also carrying a suitcase. He looked at Mrs.Sanchez and went near to her and kissed her cheeks.

'' Louis, I thought you were coming back tomorrow? '' Mrs.Sanchez said.

'' I came back early for you amore, Ademas, Todo está ya preparado para tu cumple. '' He kissed Mrs.Sanchez´s hair so Ashley secretly giggled at us so the Count looked at us.

We bowed slightly as respect and he just shook his head.

"Don't do that, no need to be formal." He said and we were surprised because he could speak the Aotorum language. 

'' I am Louis Rodriguez. Just call me Mr. Louis, because it's long '' He said. We nodded and we shook hands.

''That is Ms. Ashley Montes she's the director of this hospital. '' Mrs.Sanchez introduced us.

'' That is Dra. Amanda Kaye Buenavista was my surgeon. '' Mrs.Sanchez said. I saw how Mr.Louis looked at me with thanks and I just nodded at him.

''Thank you for saving my Wife. '' He said. '' No problem sir. ''

Mrs. Sanchez took a red envelope from Mr. Louis' case. She looked at me and she handed it to me. '' What is this? '' I asked as I took it from her.

'' I am very thankful for your service and for helping me recover Amanda. That's why I want you to come to my birthday party this Saturday at our Manor. '' She said. I gasped and looked at the envelope. Is she serious?

'' You can go with Ms.Montes, This is also a party for the merging of both hospitals. '' I looked at Ashley and I saw something in her eyes which is not right. I smiled at them and I nodded.

I just hope this is a good idea.
