Chapter 7Yannick watched Brandon until he could no longer see him, then stayed on his porch listening until Brandon was too far away to hear. He wished he would turn around and come back, despite how much he knew Brandon shouldn’t.
He took the coffee tray to the kitchen, making sure to lock the front door behind him and turn off the lights, since that was what Lee would be expecting. Yannick had been concerned Lee would return before Brandon left, had almost decided not to offer the coffee because of it. But Lee was out drinking with his friends, which meant he wouldn’t come home until dawn, and sometimes not until later than that. Yannick was very glad in the end he’d taken the risk.
Yannick put the leftover sugar back, then washed the dishes without bothering to turn on the lights. He
